This isn't a match up to really whet the appetite of most fight fans but I'm curious to see how the poster's here think a match up between the two heaviest, slowest fighters of the modern era would go.

I'm thinking the Foreman of the Schultz fight against the Valuev of the Haye fight.

It should be an interesting match up as Foreman struggled badly against movement at this point of his career which Valuev offers very little of and ditto for Valuev. Also Foreman for once would be facing a much taller, heavier and perhaps even physically stronger opponent.

Personally I think Foreman takes it on points as I can remember him utilizing a cross armed defense and confusing and outscoring Lou Savarese who was taller than George and probably possessed a better offense than Valuev.

So who takes this clash of treacle vs molassess, slower vs slowerer,Foreman vs Valuev?

Foreman didn't look good against Schultz, but I think his performance against Briggs showed that he hadn't totally lost it. I'd certainly take that Foreman, (who although slow and having trouble with movement was still strong, sneaky, smart and, quite simply, born to be a fighter) over Valuev.

George even at his age and speed (lack of there of), his skills, experience, and ring IQ would far superior than Valuev's. On top of he always head tenacity and hunger, while Valuev is just very, very passive fighter. In end Valuev is just a very marginal boxer, and would rather be a perfect candidate in teaching a young fighter what not to do. Foreman prime or old would beat Valuev on any given sunday.

It's really hard to imagine the fight, but Foreman is just so much better mentally. A winner's mentality, true determination and self-belief, and the willingness to absorb endless punishment if that's what it takes.

I see Valuev landing his fair share of heavy jabs. Doesn't do much to George. George puts on a jabbing clinic, and a mix of straight and clubbing right hands behind it. George by 9th round TKO.

The most interesting portion of this fight would be the clinches. I think George would outmuscle him due to being better balanced and his point of gravita being lower.

Not to mention that Valuev, for a 7 foot tall and 300 pound man, is just not that strong. The only question to me is whether Valuev survives the distance.

I can't believe so many are picking an old man who has scored a grand total of 1 knockout against something like 10 significant opponents, to stop Valuev who has never even been off his feet.

Valuev has never faced a fighter even like old George. Its conceivable that Valuev outboxes slow George, or vice versa but I dont see a stoppage win for either fighter.

There's a reason behind everything. Foreman frequently had to go find his opponent, cutting off the ring while he was heavy and slow on his feet.

He's not going to have much trouble finding Valuev. He'll be right there.

I could envision it like the Savarese fight, but I dont envision Valuev fighting like Savarese. It would be interesting to see how Valuev handles the type of pressure big George put on Savarese?

It's much like Holyfield vs Valuev. Holyfield still has the skills but he can't hang with younger, faster opponents anymore, unless they're extremely slow like Valuev. Valuev made him look young.

Foreman too couldn't find opponents with his big punches but Valuev would be standing right in front of him. I don't think Foreman truly lost his power, he could hurt a man if he hit them right as he displayed against Moorer and the various journeymen that he blew out.

Stopping Valuev is a tall task but it could happen.

I dont know about that. I think Holyfield fought that type of fight because he could box like that easier than go to war and force the fight, meaning this was his easiest way to victory. Foreman could never fight like Holy fought Valuev. He would only be coming forward behind his jab, so it would be two slow guys in a boxing contest, and I could see a boring fight. Its not like Valuev is completely incapable, he does possess height and reach, and uses his jab almost exclusively.
