I was there for the fight so maybe it was just the atmosphere but I thought Haye fought an intelligent fight and his movement was excellent. He countered well and effectively against an awkward fighter and when he threw punches they were on target and crisp. Yeah it wasn't a brawl but it was still entertaining.
I wouldn't call it entertaining but I laways am intrigued when Valuev fights most of anybody due to the size disparities and all. Live it can actually be decent scrap. Watching it again on tape however was ...hard.
I enjoyed it because I was expecting to see haye bring on the bombs and speed at any minute. Then when it was all over I was mystified. He didn't look great at all. Especially against such a limited puncher as Valuev. I said to my friends who don't follow boxing, but watched it with me 'there's no way Haye won this. He's got more skill, but did nothing really and you have to take the belt away from a champion. Especially in Germany'. Then he won and I looked like a right tit.
It was a total snooze fest. I cant recall a heavyweight fight where less meaningful punches were landed. I will watch any boxing event over regular tv, so my opinion doesnt account for anything. I always look for boxing first
i didn't see the fight, saw some clips. haye had to run i guess. 100 pounds is a huge disparity. was valuev hurt at all? guess i'll go look at the punch stats...
Watching it live was interesting because your were waiting to see is someone lands the big shot. If Haye's chin holds up, or if Haye has the power he bragged about. Watching this fight knowing the outcome, it's was a snoozer.
No you aren't. I liked the fight also. The majority of fans want to see brawls, and not pure boxing. It's this money's worth thing that steams me lol... I can watch both styles of fighting, and I'm never bored watching any fights.
Well I'm gonna hate since everyone hates on the klitschkos and says their fights are boring even though they have the highest KO ratios.
