yeah I have been following his career since 2004. to me, he kept improving up to the mosley fight and he looked his best against mosley. since the margo loss he got an ok ko over a B- level fighter in Jennings and barely edged out a close decision against clottey. he fought a lot smarter vs shane and even margo than he did with clottey. he hasnt shown me anything that would indicate he's 100% back to his old self.

No one with a pulse had fought him before Cotto. Every pro boxer deserves respect and it is an impressive feat to win any title however minor, but when you are talking about a context involving a potential HoFer (Cotto) that sort of justification doesn't fly. Any top welter would destroy him, and wins over nobodies who had already been beaten just as/more convincingly by other journeyman right before their fights does not prove anything on the global scene.

    It doesn't say a lot.

I don't know how people come to such a drastic conclusion based on one fight. He beat Jennings up, so its only the Clottey fight we can be referring to.

Just because he had a close fight with a very very strong guy that is difficult to hit clean nevermind hurt. What's to say he wouldn't have struggled before the Margarito fight when confronted with this opponent? Also there was a big cut...

I wouldn't rule it out because of the nature of the Margarito loss but I also wouldn't say its proven to be the case.

Where does the reality that Mosley looked like complete ASS in that fight factor into this??

well ive said for awhile now that to me he seems a BIT stiff since the margarito fight, imo. He looks very good physically, and i think he takes a shot as good as ever, but he just seems a bit more stiff then he used to, IMO. And just to me at least throws his hooks differently, they seem to be more arm punches now then they used to be.

but in my opinion that does not matter..... most fighters have a very rare 'absalute prime' period.... and its how they fight before and after that time has happened that will determine if they are just a flash in the pan, or a legit great. Great fighters dont need to be in their prime to win fights.... and this will show what cotto is made of.

Besides, he is the bigger man in there so it more then evens out.....

but for the most part hes the same, punch resistence, strength, ect.... he might just be a tad slower and a bit more stiff in my eyes though, but im sure pac isnt as fast as he is at 145 then he is at say, 135.

It evens out to me, and for the most part hes the same.... but i do see slight differences (not counting the tattoos lol)

yes but he looked like ass because of who he had in front of him, he looked great against collazo and margarito, not so much with cotto and mayorga. Its not that hes being hot and cold, he just had 4 differant fighters in front of him that all bring differant things into the ring. IMO.

Horse****, B. 1000%. Mosley looked ****ing terrible. He was pawing with all his punches, not just the jab, and he moved his head as little as I've ever seen Shane Mosley move his head. Basically, Shane did almost nothing except wing some overhand haymakers here and there, triple paw with the jab, and stand straight up right in front of Cotto to get tee'd off on. I invite you to watch that fight again and keep your eyes on Mosley the whole fight. Then watch the guy who fought Margarito. Just Mosley. Just his reflexes.

    Good to see you, BTW.

That might be the case everytime Mosley gets in the ring now, he's unpredictable. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't look that good against Berto.

Like I just told, B - just watch Shane, k. Watch him very closely.

Same goes for you, lenin. Watch that fight again and keep your eyes on Mosley the whole time. You'll see.
