Yes, obviously. Pavlik ditched the other fights he was offered, approached Team Williams, single-handedly forced a fight with Williams through negotiations and then deliberately contracted a hand infection all in contrivance to avoid him. Pavlik's always been running scared from opposition. He's been ducking Calderon, as well; he fought Miranda, Taylor and Hopkins all to avoid him. What a filthy coward.
I'm with WWM on this one. If the doctor says you'll probably be ready to close a hand by X, you don't schedule a fight 8 weeks from X. You make sure you're certain before risking another man's time and money.
I hear what you're saying... However, when a specialist is telling you shortly, any day now (well before camp), and you're staring at an opponent who you really want to fight, had trouble in previous negotiations, need to do reputation damage control, and for 3 million... Hard not to sign.
everybody has good points but pavlik is losing fans..who wants to wait months to see a one dimensional fighter?
Not me. This plus the Hopkins fiasco has totally taken the winds out of his sails. As always there are "reasons" for each failure. What's new?
He took on the undisputed mw, champion Jermain Taylor x2(was in his prime) , went up to 170 to fight Nard and all of a sudden he is ducking a ww? Come on guys, I think we can agree he is NOT DUCKING Paul Williams, I won't believe that for a second! Now, what I DO THINK is happening is, he is being managed horribly! If anything, I would have NEVER EVER put him in against Nard, sick or not sick, that was one of the worst decisions Arum could have made. It probably messed with Pavliks mind, it would mine, getting a ass kicking like that. What do you guys think?
Iwould agree. He's not ducking him, he just is not ready, although he shouldn't of signed if he wasn't.
interesting video from Mr. Seckhbach with challenger Miguel Espino LMFAO: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuWICrpOnjc[/ame]
Yet the haters claim that Haye has courage for backing out of a fight with Vlad, then Vitali and running like a scared rabbit vs. Valouev and now co-promoted by Don King?! Yes, looks as if he very well might have sold out. Why am I not surprised?
I don't believe Pavlik is ducking him, but the only question I have is that he is fighting soon after Williams fights in December against another opponent. The obvious question comes up here. Why couldn't that have been against each other?
Why would Pavlik duck Williams? Pavlik had no reason to fight Williams in the first place, Hell, Margarito beat the living Hell out of Williams.
I wouldn't say beat the hell out of him, didn't Williams come out way ahead in those matchups. And also, let's say Margarito did do well against Williams, his style is a little more aggressive than Pavlik who waits for guys to tired. A little different style.
