Does Frank think that Amir will never beat Prescott? Could Khan Mitchell be a way around that? Beat the man who beat the man.
I think that Khan will box the ears off Mitchell...Khan's lead hand and fast feet won't let Mitchell near him...:yep
you gotta be be the biggest twat on this site, jog on you lemon. you sound like a little lost teenager, who gets brave behind a computor. so ****ing what if I want to follow a boxer and am a fan, it is what it is, and you know what, I dont give a **** if you dont like it. The only person who is sad is yourself, who pays way to much attention to the **** I say
jigsaw, why is Kev moving up to 135? Does he just see the Prescott fight as a huge opportunity that he can't pass up or has he been having trouble making weight? Or maybe even both:think.
I must say...... I'm struggling to think of a British fighter who has had a more stop-start and generally badly managed career than Mitchell. Additionally - he ought to forget about Khan and concentrate on his own career. It's not a fight that particularly appeals to me. 1. Khan is fighting at 140 now. 2. Mitchell has only beaten one worthy domestic operator - Johanneson. Admittedly he was the top dog. 3. Go out and earn a shot at a title - rather than talking through the press. Obviously he has had his troubles with injuries and such, but that doesn't entitle him to a shot at Khan. In fact, it's the opposite.
this article gives us a bit of info as to why he is moving up to 135lbs http://www.frankwarren.tv/web/index.php/latest-news/091009/174-mitchell-prescott-in-newcastle Mitchell had been lined up to fight Ricky Burns in Newcastle, but said a fight against the Scotsman wasn't realistic because of his battle to make 9'4. "I was trying to get weight off in the gym," explained Mitchell. "I was over 10 stone and there wasn't much left to come off and I knew that I couldn't do 9'4 any more. "I walk around at over 11 stone, and that combined with the inactivity meant that there is no way that I can do super-featherweight again."
Would fighting Khan in the summer be a bit too soon for Mitchell? I would rather see him get accustomed to the extra weight first and I feel that a jump from super-feather all the way up to light-welter in a short space of time (although he has said himself he is at the lightweight limit now) would not bode well for his chances. Best of luck to him though :good
THIS IS A **** FIGHT. mitchell is a decent size super featherweight. khan is a big lightweight, now a lightwelterweight. mitchell IS NOT world class, khan IS world class. mitchell vs prescott is poo. mitchell vs burns makes sense. mitchell should unify and leave no doubts domestically. if he beats burns then he can go to the world stage or go europe. i genuinely hope they scrap prescott vs mitchell and reinstate mitchell vs burns. a good old domestic scrap. the hype or the road warrior to win?
I hope Mitchell leaves this fight it just doesn't make sense. I don't mind him moving up but he should concentrate on winning his own world title first and then defending it a few times before he looks for a domestic super fight two weights above his natural weight.
