What Fighter got the Most "GIFT DECISION" throughout their Career?

Holyfield v Lewis 1 for me is one the of the ones that sticks out. Sven Ottke decisions is what gave German judging a bad name.

Thos complaining about Chavez v Taylor. Taylor is now brain damaged because of that fight. Yes Taylor was winning on the cards but the fight isn't over until the bell rings and it doesn't matter how much time is left on the clock the ref has to do his job ... Taylor was asked 3 times if he was ok to fight on and he didn't respond to the ref, he gave the ref no choice but to stop it. When Mosley put Mayorga down with 1 second to go and the ref waved it off as soon as he hit the floor although he clearly wasn't out cold is that a bad decision too? because Mayorga was winning that fight by a mile.

Or is it just double standards because Taylor was American?

 

I'm struggling to think of one guy who got a whole load more than anybody else...... a lot of fighters only received one shocker in their entire career, others received several close/debatable ones.

Marquez II win = close
Morales loss = close

and so on.......

 

Taylor-Chavez SHOULD have been stopped. Steele asked Taylor if he was ok to continue and he didn't answer.

Imagine if Steele had allowed the fight to go on anyway, Chavez rushed Taylor with 2 punches and put him in a coma....people would be calling Steele a criminal.

The rematch was a robbery, but I don't think the 1st fight was!!!

 

Be serious. Even if you think those fighters edged those fights they were hardly gift decisions!

 

To be honest i think there have been a lot of bad decisions. One of the worst in a title fight is probably Reid v Ottke.

I can't see how anyone can say that Calzage got a gift decision against B-Hop. It was a close fight that could have gone either way but the judges clearly didn't like the faking of low blows, time wasting and clinching every time he threw a punch from Hopkins

 

You r right.... that's why the judges gave him the fight w/ Sturm AFTER THAT TRINI FIGHT happened!! Trinidad won, get over it......... I can see if the judges would've given the fight to Oscar, everybody would've been yelling the other way around about how Trinidad got robbed... it's what happens when u have a close fight..... Trinidad still won, though! :hey:yep

 

I disagree. Reid v Ottke was criminally refereed. The judges decision wasn't that terrible.

 

Toney has got ONE gift decision during all his career - against Dave Tiberi. Which was not the robbery of the century as some claim, but a close fight itself.

Ok, Toney has won some close ones (like McCallum II, Reggie Johnson). No shame in that. He still won.

He's also got the decision in a couple fights that could've gone either way, depending on how you score fights (like Oquendo, Batchelder). These fights may be controversial, but they're not gift decisions. On the other side Toney also lost a couple such fights (Montell Griffin I, Drake Thadzi - not robberies, if you favour activity and quantity over quality of punches, then it's all good).

And let's not forget that Toney got robbed too (Samuel Peter I, Griffin II).

 

I was watching the fight, its not my fault you only kept your eyes on Floyd I was watching the Champion come forward taking all the risk, I favor the man comming forward making it a fight had it not been for Oscar comming forward the fight would have been a dud.....

What happend to Floyd? why didnt he ICE him as he said he would? Ohh I forgot that would require a back bone wouldnt it.... STFU the fight was close moron the champion did more than enough to defend.

 

Chris Eubank had some very dubious decisions awarded to him.

 

Reid vs Ottke scoring wasn't that bad - could have gone either way.

Bearing in mind the action that the referee ALLOWED to happen - the decision was fair enough.

The fact that Reid was warned for punching Ottke in the face, isn't of course.

 

Surely if i percieve them fighters to have edged a decision, calzaghe recieved a gift? Totally my opinion, like it is that hes the most overrated fighter ever!!!

 

Usually if you perceive a fighter to have 'edged' a decision that means it was a close decision that could have gone either way. Hardly a gift.

If you did consider such decisions a 'gift', then you can't have watched much boxing if you can't think of a fighter that got more than two...
