Paying attention - - - Mundine several classes lower ............ Mundine would school Miranda big time
Ever wonder why Ward would only fight in his home town with his referee, judges, commentators, etc.? Ward seems to think he needs some help, and he will receive help, but Kessler is not afraid to fight under those circumstances. I would never have agreed to such a farce.
No unlike you I didnt join 5 minutes ago. I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again. But not about this fight. Oddly I think Ward can make the semis in this. His other fights are Dirrell who he should have the tools to beat and will be coming off a KO loss to AA and Taylor who is sucking bad these days. I cant see Taylor making the semis and he is likely to be joined by Dirrell or possibly even Froch who has two super tough fights coming up.
I am looking forward to watching this fight. I hope that judges will score it fairly and without any bias.
I can see some similarities with Mundine and Ward...they both have speed and good moverability and both likes using angles. I just think Ward is a class above Mundine...he is a better technical boxer, faster and his chin is not as bad as Mundine´s. Kessler trainer Richard Olsen said this would be the morale final of the super six...and he said that for a reason, coz he knows how good Ward is. I also think Miranda is being seriously underrated by some here, just because he had a few KO losses. He almost beat AA the first time but had alot of points deducted and lost. Pavlik went into slugfest with Miranda and took alot of shot before breaking him down. After AA ...Miranda is the hardest puncher at SMW ...and Ward schooled him without going to war with him.
I don´t think its impossible for Kessler to win the fight, but i think he has to deliver the best performance in his career to get a win, and im unsure whether he is capable of that at this stage of his career. My objective thoughts is that Ward is a 60-40 favorite with the homeadvantage also in mind.
Funny stuff, guy has never knocked out a top 50 SMW and couldn't put away Abraham at middleweight despite him having a broken jaw.
Jaysus... how overrated is Miranda? Ward a class above a 2 time world champ? Yeah right. Course he is. The Kessler fight will just be a formality then for him...... until he gets the first straight right straight down the pipe. This fight is probably the easiest of all the super six fights to predict. Ward don't have enough power to get Kessler's respect and Kessler cuts the ring down far too well fro Ward to be able to do a runner. If ward comes to win he will get stopped. If he comes to survive he will probably make it as far as the scorecards. Either way he'll get dominated.
To kO someone you have to find the target and alot of boxers does that better than Miranda....so being a hard puncher isnt enough to get a KO, im sure i dont have to explain that to you. Anyway Miranda has a good Ko ratio 78.38 percent thats still pretty good for a guy that lost 4 fights.
I got an idea....let's wait until the 22nd. We'll see how Ward does against Kessler, and we'll compare how Mundine did against Kessler. Then all you folks who compared Ward to Mundine can tuck your tail in between your legs, go sit in the corner and lick your balls.
I may have joined 5 minutes ago, but I didn't start watching boxing 5 minutes ago....unlike you. PLEASE stick around for a while. We're gonna have all kinds of fun.
Well said. I think Miranda is still a very relevant fighter. The losses on his resume are far from shameful. He won his last fight by first round KO. Another thing he is far from is washed up, he just lossed to some exceptional fighters.
Pretty good observation. Ward will have to be busier if he is going backwards. Kessler is definetly a better fighter than Miranda so it should be a great fight. Let's see if Ward can reach another level and win.
