Larry Merchant use to always ask how does a fighter prepare for Jones in the high weight classes and Manny Steward would simply say 'I don't know'. It's impossible to prepare for someone with that much speed and reflexes at those weight classes.:bbb

Kidding, as true as that is it's a **** way to debate. Spinks would be hard for Jones though. He might make Jones come to him, and Jones likes to fight, but the way Spinks can lure have you come forward then suddenly be throwing thudding powerful blows is a hard prospect for anyone at 175.

I rate Jones very very highly h2h, but i can't just write off these guys. Spinks for me. But to be honest i'm not complaining.

That's why you and Brooklyn and ACB were some of my favorite posters because you guys have the ability to look at things from the other side of the coin.

Would you at least agree that Jones is unbeatable at 168, whether it's against the likes of Nunn, Eubank, Benn, Calzaghe etc....???

 

Believe me Rooster if Roy had just a couple of more names on his resume he would be my GOAT as well but then again it's a given Roy beats any fighter of his generation and the generations before that so overall he is the greatest h2h fighter of all time.

I don't really like using the term 'unbeatable' unless i'm kidding around, but i whole wheartedly see what you're saying. I'd pick him over anyone in that weight's history. This mightn't be favourable for you, but i actually think that Calzaghe Jones warrants more consideration than most do. But in the end, even though Calzaghe has never been stopped, i'd be betting on a Jones stoppage win.

 

I could tell by the time he was a contender where he was headed. And to all the others who ask "who did he beat that makes him great"? I say Roy dont have to beat no one else to make him great. he just is. That's how good he was
