Wouldn't call it ''great'' all things considering but good.

Needs a considerable step us next as time ain't on his side.

Brewster vs. Liakhovich was a great fight, let's hope he returns to form.

Let's not get too excited. I like Sergei, too. But he beat the not-so-fearsome Jeremy Bates. Bates is a virtual KO waiting to happen.

That said, he looks in relative good shape in that (small) photo. Here's hoping he makes some noise again.

I remember the result went unposted on boxrec for hours after the main event was over. :?

And none of the broadcasts showed the fight, but they replayed the Ruiz and Helenius bouts (which were both a good deal longer). :huh Very strange.

Video would be nice at some point, but it could be that it was just simply never recorded...

Retire and save us the misery of having to watch him fight again.

    he knocked out jeremy bates
who lost 8 of his last 9 fights
knocked out in 7 out of 8 losses , 6 of those 2 rounds or less the other time in the 3rd round.

Lyakovich did what he needed to do with the win and what he does in the future will determine a good comeback or not.

Good for Sergei. At least he has skill and can punch a bit and is in decent shape. that's more than can be said than about some of the HW "contenders" out there like arreola (fat, boxing smarts lacking); peter (same), ruiz, an apparently weakened chagaev. if he's healthy he should at least be able to make some noise

Stay active (4-5 fights a year) and don't do a disappearing act.
