Hey man look I'm Puerto Rican and I'm agreeing with you. I think Boxing should just be about going for the better fighter or simply who you prefer. Back when Tito Trinidad was a great fighter I rooted for him because he was great. Not because he was Puerto Rican. As a kid by favorite fighter was Julio Cesar Chavez and he's Mexican.

My whole family was rooting Camacho when he fought Chavez just because he was Puerto Rican not because they thought Camacho was the better fighter. I was 7 yrs old back then and I knew I wasn't about that. Like today, I'm a Pacquiao fan. I root for him in all his fights including now against Cotto. I root for Pacquiao because I think he's an awesome fighter. Because he's a rags to riches type of guy and I appreciate his hustle.

Him winning is better for Boxing and I wanna see him make history with a 7th world title. When people come out they're face and say I'm not really Puerto Rican because I root for Pacquiao I find extremely ridiculous. I rooted Judah & Mosley against Cotto also. But only because I'm bigger fans of those guys, it has nothing to do with being Puerto Rican or not.

I actually don't think Margarito damaged Cotto...he looked the same against Clottey as he did with Shane (not overly impressive in either fight). As a Mexican I don't know who to cheer for....however, I have to say I like Miguel a bit more.

    Who will win?

And that's great for you if that's what you prefer. As for me I root for who I like. Not who I'm "supposed" to like.

pac is gonna ko cotto in 5 rounds. that is my prediction too much speed for cotto to handle pac.. is very quick on his feet, and it seems that cotto is very confident that he is stronger than manny he doesnt how strong manny really is he gonna be surprised.

This is just too funny from a Filipino point of view and it just maybe true.

in Filipino, MATALO is to LOSE. You are cheering your friend to lose! :happy

Oh, and Cotto takes this fight. If Manny, beeing the brave man that he is, eeks out the W, he will have worked extremely hard for it. This is not hatton or a weight drained mariachi, this is a true and extremely powerfull welterweight that has something to prove. Props to both warriors for taking such a tough fight.

I havent been this excited since I got my first heady on a nightclub dancefloor.
