Ricky, please leave it out. Its an insult to the fans like me who have followed him from day 1. I he was serious he would fight a light welter, not chase one last big payday, of which he has no chance of winning.
Why does he want Cotto because he will get a big pay day and he will say its for the so call P4P title and then most probably get sparked again even quicker, Bigger fish to fry than you Mr Hatton.
As the OP says, this would only make the remotest sense if Cotto lost. I strongly suspect Hatton was merely trying to keep his name in the news though.
If Hatton did come back he should avoid anyone decent like Cotto. Ricky could sell out any big stadium in Britain vs anyone and could still get a few thousand to follow him to America if he fought an old fighter with a good name.
Ricky, you're not going to walk back into an elite fight after being brutalised last time out. Get Khan at Wembley.
Cotto does have bigger fish to fry than Hatton....... win or lose. Win - and a Mayweather fight is almost certain. Then maybe a Pac rematch? Lose - Mosley rematch, Pac rematch, Berto, Collazo. Hatton would make more $$$$ than quite a few of those fights - so I wouldn't 100% rule it out, tbh.
