He's litterally putting boxing back on the map !! If boxing was shown like in the 80s on regular cable TV, boxing and Manny's popularity would be incredible right now !!!

He already got the record for the most lineal titles. What more do you want? HE IS ALWAYS MOVING UP! Give the man his due. He can only get into so many fights. Otherwise, he will end up like any other fighter stucked in his own division.

Agree. Superstars can help revive interest in boxing to it's glory days.

PAc is not an atg. Floyd is not an atg. Maybe if they fight each other, the winner can become an atg. You either like one fighter or the other. Judging by their resumes, Floyd has fought the more prime comp. Pac has beaten the bigger name, but he has not beaten that many prime fighters in his career. The bigger names were past their prime when PAc fought them. This stuff that I just read is kind of weaselish to read, but you are a PAc fan, and while it is your opinion, I think it's a phony thought. I stopped reading after the above...no offense!

Floyd's lineal titles/multiple titles are overrated along with PAc's, Dlh's, Sugar's, Leonard's, and Hearns. The true lineal champions/multiple division winning champions are the fighters of the past. Moving up and fighting in multiple divisions is one thing, but fighting the very best in those divisions for their titles is another.

Therefore, when you add them all together, there's actually more casual fans and those who only watch major events than hardcore fans. A megafight like this, it would make more a worldly impact with a Pac win simply because, only hardcore fans and Puerto Rican fans know Cotto. Pacman on the other hand, all boxing fans know who he is and many non boxing fans know who he is, his name is all over magazines and newspapers and Cotto is only there for the ride because he is the opponent, but he is rarely talked about.

For my honest opinion though, on the main question, which win is better for boxing... For short term, it would be Pacman, for long term it's Cotto. Why? SImple, Pacman will retire 2 or 3 fights from now and boxing will die again. Boxing won't be the same without Pacman. Let's be realistic. Forget your favorites and don't defend them. Put yourselves in the eyes of the general public, not in the eye of the hardcore boxing fan. This discussion is not about you or your favorite, it's who is making the big impact.

Look man, the Puerto Rican fans I can't blame them, they support their guy and we have a lot of Puerto Ricans here. That's normal and respected, these fans never had anything bad to say about fighters because of race or any like that. Rican fans are respectful of all fighters and supportive of the sport whether there is a Puerto Rican star in the sport or not, they're not cowards and we all know boxing always has a Rican star regardless and they are all respectful.

Nall.....PAC is an ATG brah. Of course you won't admit to it b/c you are on your job. But just b/c your ginding doing "you" doesn't make "your reality" what's reality for everyone else. Floyd is an ATG.......just not a highly ranked ATG. Shane, Nard, Jones Jr, Leonard, Duran, ect.....all are ATGs...all rank differently based on a wide spectrum of criteria. Some is resume, dominance, Talent, Skill, accomplisments ect.

I'm not sure what you mean by "you either like one fighter or the other". I'm not cut from your cloth homie. I'm a fan of BOXING....not just one guy. I apprecaite the dymanmics that make up the sport and a key factor to what makes up this sport are the boxers themselves.....their lives, paths they took to accomplish greatness ect. Personalities are key as well. They give the sport color.

Floyd hans't faught the "More prime comp". That is how you spin it to fit your reality. BUt it's completely transparent. You are "see through" brah.
No offesne taken Nall. I understand you and how you operate and we are just coming from different angles. We won't agree but that's of no concern b/c for me this is entertainment and a chance to help educate cats on the sport as a whole.....not jsut on one particular guy that is my "favorite". Again.......Boxing is what I'm a fan of. I like the fighters and while I perfer some over the other, they all have something to bring to the table.
