WTF?? Now we all have to agree that Froch won the fight because Manny Steward says so? Else to be declared ******s and outcasts? It's an OPINION, nothing more. Steward is not God, his opinion is not holy and people can (and quite often do) disagree with him about a fight or a fighter while still knowing a bit about boxing. "Froch won the fight, get over it"- that i do agree with. It's in the past, i thought Dirrell desrved a win but the Froch win stands no matter what i, Manny Steward or anyone thinks about it.
He not a bad trainer he's just not all that great and I stand by that. I respect his opinion too, but this one I strongly disagree with. He's saying that Direll landed the stronger punches, but Froch won because he looked more confident? **** outta here.
I am one of those who thought Dirrell won the fight. My argument for this was that regardless of his style, or the judges, fans, or commentators dislike for his tactics, he was the more effective fighter. The fight sucked because of his tactics and for that he was punished. But it should have been up to the ref to punish him by deducting (more) points if need be. Not the judges. Another reason that I believe some fans hated the decision was due to Froch's post fight interview. He came off as smug and acted like he had achieved something other than looking like a slow footed, slow fisted, technically deficient fighter who had fought a dirty fight himself and had barely squeaked out a decision in his own backyard. How he got away without a decuction is inexplicable. All this being said, I was over it that night, but look forward to this supposed rematch if it happens.
Yeah but how often does Wlad leave it in the hands of the judges? Not to mention the fact that there usually aren't CLOSE rounds in a Klit fight. Usually its a one-sided beatdown that ends in a brutal KO.
I like how Manny, as well as the rest of you Froch dick riders, only talks about what Dirrell did and didnt do, but never talks about what Froch did. That is because Froch did absolutely nothing but walk into punches. Regardless of how Dirrell fought, he landed more and meaningful blows while Froch did absolutely nothing.
Im not bitter at all...I just find it very funny, yet stupid as hell that no one ever talks about what Froch actually did. People just talk about what Dirrell didnt do. With all the **** talkin on Dirrell and how he fought you would think that he would have gotten dominated or something, which looks bad on Froch because it was anything but. He should feel ashamed of himself because as "bad" as Dirrell fought, the majority of the public still feels that he won.
I have no problem with the decision. All along my problem is that Froch should have been disqualified sometime between his 50th and 75th foul!
There is absolutely no point in what he said. First of all Wladimir doesnt hold very much, only when he is in danger. The only fight he was excecively holding was the Peter fight but apart from holding he also threw and landed a lot of punches.
In that fight you didnt have to wonder who you should give the round to, the guy who landed 3 clean punches or the guy who landed 20 punches but only 1 clean punch. Wladimir despite clinching threw and landed a lot of punches with consistency snapping Peters head back.
Froch sucks, got exposed by a ****ing prospect and was forced to fight dirty just so he could do something. I don't care anymore, he'll get beaten again if he ever rematches Dirrell. Also I heard he's fighting AA next so he's seriously ****ed.
Agreed Froch won - so confused by the ammount of bile directed to the decision - time to get past it now
