I don't get it, why does he want to be so low the day before?

If that is true, then no doubt Cotto gets knocked out

He is maintaining, I think he wanted to be this low so he doesnt have to burn himself out at the scales....

A bit worrying if you're a Cotto fan.

Oh ok, I just thought you would like to hover around the weight or a pound or two over. Hope he isn't pulling a delahoya and gonna fight at his weigh in weight :-(

I'd be more worried if he was at 147 today sitting in a sauna.

And if he's not 154+ by tomorrow.

Its so he can start to rehydrate BEFORE the weigh-in...on weigh-in day he rehydrates a pound for the weight in. Its better than staying at 145 for a whole day and risk coming in overweight and the suddenly having to put on weight afterwards.

The way I saw this contracted weight agreement from the get is that if done right, if Cotto gets into camp early enough, he is still young enough to come down to 144 safely and have no problems in the fight.

He does look healty doesnt look bothered by the weight so far, I am not even concerned about it I think Cotto will be just fine..... Will Manny be just fine when that true welter starts to hit his ass?

This is how I see it. Oscar was taking off raw- hamburger at the end. Cotto isn't quite at that time of life yet.

Either a) the weight is going to kill him, in which case it doesn't matter anyway or b) he can do it. If he can do it, I like his maintaining for 24 hours rather than forcing those hard final two pounds off just before the weigh in.
