How does he do if he fought each say, three times a piece.

I think he could probably take them all with his combined speed, intensity, and workrate; and I'm not sure any of them had anything substantial enough to thwart him.

Langford might have the best chance I think.

He certainly wastes McVey and Johnson. Probably does the same to the much better Langford who was just a little over his head as a HW.

Johnson was challenged heartily by minuscule neanderthals. He is nowhere near in the league of Ali. Please. Possibly the most over-rated fighter in the history of heavyweights. Not sure he could even beat the best guy at my gym.

Well, old films from '10 thru '15 are gonna be harsh........... But I see Johnson as being big, buffed, coordinated with advanced (For the Time) skills........... I think he MIGHT be able to deal with Frazier.............

I do think Johnson was the best heavy ever of the first half of the 20th century............ From 1900 to 1950, Johnson reigns superior in my book.......

    :good

Lord all mighty, Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey, Jess Willard, Max Baer and Max Schmeling would have (and one did) knock the living **** out of Johnson. Jack was revolutionary for his time and looked great against his horrible contemporaries. However, he was highly inconsistent, making horrible showings against smaller, underpowered foes. He simply is vastly overrated due to his social significance, which is admittedly vast. Logic defies the ranking he is given by the fancy set.

    Seamus,

I smell some bull**** over on your end........ Why is that? Johnson was more gifted than any other heavyweight you just mentioned, including Joseph Louis........... Dempsey, Baer or Schmeling?? PUHLEASE!!!

As for Jesse Willard, Christ, it is well known he beat an aging, outta shape and lawfully ****ed Johnson in 1915.......

I don't buy any of the above. Dempsey and Baer were more gifted, though Baer was even less disciplined than Johnson and wasted his gift far more extravagantly. Willard was basically the same age as Johnson, but with far less experience, and showed he was better more durable man over the long rounds. Really, look at Johnson's spotty record filled with excuses for subpar performances against smaller opponents and victories over has-been or undersized opponents. It's a travesty upon logic that he can be considered in the same league as Joe Louis.

    Seamus,

You got it ass backwards my amigo............. Okay, I'll buy into the Schmeling and Louis part that they were on par, in terms of skills and knowledge, as Johnson was in 1908 thru '15, but no ****in' way was the crude and rugged Dempsey or Baer in Johnson's class as a skilled fighter.....
