Are we hugely underestimating Cotto ???

You're definitley underestimating Cotto, and again her wife is a one ugly mofo.

 

They are pretty close to the same size, they weighed the same tonight and their body mass doesn't look to be a huge difference.

We are underestimation Cotto, but we are also underestimating Pac.

 

You can't blame people for being really excited about where Pac is in his career. He just won two really big fights back to back.

However, most of the stuff I hear and read about Cotto is based on non-sense. I keep encountering statements about how Margo damaged Cotto, and no fighter can take that kind of beating without leaving something behind. BULL****. Those who make such statements clearly have little or no knowledge of boxing history. Case in point; watch Danny Lopez vs Bobby Chacon, and then think about the fact that a few fights later Danny beat 7 shades of **** out of Ruben ****ing Olivares, and went on to become the a dominate featherweight champ! Haglar knocked Hearns, and Hearns was freaking carried back to his corner. Tommy went on to win not one but three more world titles. Cotto beat Clottey with ONE EYE!! The list of examples goes on and on. The "Cotto is damaged goods" business is a stupid and invalid claim.

 

Either Pac or Cotto will win the fight tomorrow night.

 

Exactly! It's possible he is damaged, but also possible he is not. Why?
Because fighters have proven that you can take a beating and comeback
even stronger. History does not lie, and has a way of repeating itself.

 

Usually when a fighter really is damaged goods you see a pattern emerge pretty quickly. Edison Miranda and Jermain Taylor are two recent examples. That's not the case with Cotto. He fought his easy come back against Jennings, and then fought 12 brutal rounds with Clottey and won. The proof is in the facts, and mindless speculation always irritates me, especially when the facts do not support it!

 

Exactly! And under the circumstances, i consider these wins very impressive.

 

I didn't see the fight but I see that Cotto must have handled Malinagi's (sp) speed and skill. The photos of Paulies face are brutal.

I don't think anyone's forgotten - from my reading, that seems to be the primary reason people are saying Cotto will lose, on account of his loss to Margo.
