Hey all, I've just come across a signed 10x8" Mohammed Ali black and white photograph of the time he floored Sonny Liston. The photo is exactly the same as the one in my Avatar, although I'm not sure if it is the original or a re-print which Ali then signed. Anyways I'm really tempted to buy it but the guy has told me that he'd want about £1,200 for it. Ouch. I honestly believe the photo is a historic one capturing a legend at his best. But....as you guys are all hardcore boxing fans, do you think i'm being a little crazy considering paying over a grand for it? How much should I offer for the photo? Your advice is appreciated :good
Yeah mate I think its over the top. You look around you can get better ones for that price. I've seen a signed one of him and Pele (dual signed for less than 1k) and have also seen a dual signed one of him and Elvis embracing for less than 1k too
Woah. I'd like to get the one of him and Elvis. Kill two birds with one stone! Dan, where did you see the dual photos? If you're not allowed to post publicly then send me a PM. Thanks mate. :good £1,200 does seem a little steep. Before i knew the price i was expecting it to be a couple of hundred quid....but that's probably the tight Yorkshire man inside of me being true to form.
Heres one of them mate. This is expensive and i've seen it cheaper definately but I just wanted to show it to you. Class photo. I'll keep looking for the dual signed one http://www.boxing-memorabilia.com/alielvisvegas.htm
http://www.spiritofsport.co.uk/gbu0...tlanta-Olympics-1996-signed-presentation.html I would pay the £200 extra and get this personally - This is superb :good http://www.spiritofsport.co.uk/gbu0-prodshow/champs-forever-multisigned.html
A young Larry Merchant can be seen between Ali's legs (if you pardon the expresion). Ali would sign it himself if you brought one for a few quid and sent it to him at: Muhammad Ali, P.O. Box 187, Berrien Springs, MI 49103, USA.
We've got a pretty big memorabilia shop in the centre of Bristol if that's any use to the OP. The short and small of it is a lot of people buy this sort of thing on impulse and then regret it later when they find that the similar ones are cheaper (and authorised) elsewhere. Here it is if you want it, Gallardo: http://www.famousmemorabilia.co.uk/boxing :good EDIT: Look at this! http://www.famousmemorabilia.co.uk/product.asp?cid=87&pid=12240
I paid $1200 dollars for signed Rocky Marciano picture, but this was from a very reputable memorabilia website run by a guy called Craig Hamilton who is the leading aurthority on this sort of stuff, his website is well pricey but he has some truly amazing stuff on there. I personally don't touch any Ali autographs as there are so many forgeries doing the rounds on account of his popularity
