If Ricky Htaton came out of hs "retirement" at 140 or 147 could he walk straight into a title fight?

    140, yes.

    147, less likely.

I think at 140 like Akxtinguish said, yes. Maybe Khan would be the most likely of the champions, but given hatton's split with Warren i'm not sure if they could come to an agreement.

    Yeah his old WBU title!

The fact is any of the title holders would love a fight with him cos it means $$ so it could be made very easily. It would be massivley wrong and undeserved but when did that matter.

Oh really , well go ask the Ring and Boxrec why they rate him inside the top 3 in the world @140 .

Fact Hatton in good shape gives any of the top 140 lber's a fight !!!!! .

He's got the name & the promotion, I say Yes.
Does he deserve one, Hmmmm! Maybe @ 140lbs.
(But not 147lbs, & that's for health reasons)

i dont see him being a force in 140. for me Khan / Bradley /Alexander all beat him now.

however as requested i have just asked boxrec and they replied that their ratings are dodgy at best and only really useful for checking records. Ring would not offically comment tho off the record they said that as they are owned by Golden Boy they have to keep their cash cows highly ranked just in case. :deal

i agree w/ ya brother. but then the flip side of that is, can he begin cutting all that weight he's put on early enough (like now) and gradually enough so that he's still competitive at 140? melting off all that weight in camp i think would not be good at all for him. if he wants a 140 title fight, i hope he starts breaking a sweat about it now b/c some of those pics ive seen of him...he's enjoyed himself lets just say that.

He could walk straight into a left hook, or a turnbuckle.

Yes at 140. Don't forget he beat the number 2 lww convincingly before he lost to the p4p#1. So I would say he definitely deserves a shot at the Bradley's of the world. Whether he would win is a completely different story.
