Not really in any era. Personally I think that in the Golden era they would still be top contenders capable upsetting the worldchampion on a good night.

Is there such a thing as " Klitschko hater's comment of the week? "

They would be good contenders, and could upset anyone. Remember, this is boxing where anything can happen.

I think both Vitali and Wlad would have a chance at being one of the alpha titlists of the 80's. You can't tell me that they were any worse than Greg Page, Gerrie Coetzee, and some of the other ones who held straps for a fashion. In the 90's, I think they would be rated at about the middle of the spectrum.. Let's face it, if Francesco Damiani, Orlin Norris, an old Foreman, old Witherspoon and a few others were rated, then I can't imagine them not being in the mix.... In the 70's, I can see both men sparking guys like Norton, Quarry, Shavers, Lyle and a few others.. Only Foreman, Frazier, Ali and Holmes would have my vote to beat them, and Frazier is actually a toss up given his smaller size and questionable whiskers.

big, strong, athletic guys with good amatuer backgrounds and 50 wins rarely have an impact. the era where most heavies (like say marciano) where 185 wet, the klitchko's would have been lost in the crowd. and in the 80's when berrbick, james smith and michael spinks were the big 3, what could they have offered? is this sarcastic enough? maybe someone should continue...

Norton, Shavers, and Lyle would have beaten both Klitchko's, IMO.

Shavers would have had a punchers chance against Wlad. Other than that possibility, none of the three would have beaten either Klitschko.

    And Norton vs Vitali ????

I don't think that any of those men had the chin or physical tools to withstand a long term battle with the Klits, and nor do I see any of them scoring stoppages early against the brothers. Sure, Wlad was KO'd early by sanders, but Corrie had a left hook and fast handspeed - two things that none of the aformentioned fighters had, or at least not to that degree. Earnie's weapon was the overhand right.. Not a particularly useful tool against either Klit. Norton was a man who fighters down over time, which is fine, but he'd have to take a lot of shots from two much bigger men, before his real assets come into play.. I don't see that happening. Lyle might be interesting, and may have a chance to beat Wlad in similar fashion to the way Brewster did, but I wouldn't bet money on it.
