Well, they weighed the same. Tonight Cotto may be 10lbs heavier but that's not THAT much bigger at all IMO. I know some make such a big deal of this but heavyweights have much bigger gaps than that when they fight

Who has Cotto beat that's great? Zab..lol, aging Mosley.. big deal. I don't buy it for a second that Cotto would have destroyed Oscar or Hatton in even close to the manner Pac did. Sure, styles make fights, but Pac has faster hands, feet and just as much if not more power. Sure Cotto is a very good fighter but he's taking on a great fighter in his PRIME that has so much momentum going it's ridiculous. If this is the same Pac that fought Oscar and Hatton, Cotto is going to get demolished. I just wonder if all of the popularity may have gotten to Pacs head since it happens to the best of them. If not, and I'm banking on it, Cotto is in for a beating.

10lb or so makes a big difference when you only weigh about 150lb. It's a significant percentage of your overall body weight. Thats the difference between the heavies & the smaller weights.

Who's Pac fought who's as good & as big as Cotto?
You can't compare those versions of Hatton & DLH to Cotto.

Granted Pac fought lesser versions of Hatton, Barerra and Morrales, it wasn't as if he just squeaked by them -- he utterly destroyed them. Cotto squeaked by an aging Mosley, barely. Pac is in his ultimate prime, Cotto declining. His last fight vs. Clottey many said he should've lost. While Pac hasn't fought someone as "big" as Cotto that's a very good fighter, he's fought better, smaller fighters. I just don't think 10lbs is going to be a factor whatsoever.

Cotto will make a fight of this, no doubt, for about 4-5 rounds, and he'll have his moments. But in the end, Pac is too fast, hits too hard, and hits him too much.

Granted the weight difference is only a factor if Cotto can hit without being hit too much

Your sense of boxing history is nearly none existant. The list of fighters who took brutal beatings and went on to become dominate beasts is a mile long.

If you notice in previous fights, Manny never does a real staredown (he was smiling too at Hatton during weigh in and was looking at ref during fight staredown). That's because that kind of thing is frowned upon in Philippine culture. If he does, it's because he has to for promotional purposes.

The stairdown thing is overblown. Pac was trying to pull Cotto over for the staredown after the weigh in IMO Anyway, he will be a different beast inside the ring as we know.

Pt 2 Roach WAS visibly worried when Cotto took to the scales. But if you look at Pac he was busy smiling to the crowd, so its not going to affect him anyway.

What will be crucial is the mid rds, if it goes that far. If Manny can bust up Cottos face then he could win on pts, i dont see Pac KOing Cotto. If Pac starts too slowly then Cotto is too strong in the middle rds and will stop Pac by 7
