This fight will come down to who has the better Chin. I am not sold on Pac's Chin at 140 pounds as he has not taken a punch yet at this weight.
He was a boxing writer for years before he started doing radio hosting. Like you said, you don't get much boxing on the Fan - or any other of these general sports stations - so it's nice to have one of our own in the belly of the beast!!
Yes guys listen to this guy who thinks Charlie Zelenoff is a legend in the making... this is the guy you want to listen to he basicly promotes the trailor park boxing bull**** in the lounge, this guy obviously knows his boxing.
I think Pacs mixture of workrate, accuracy and power will be too much in the end. I can see Pac stopping him late, the accumilation will be too much!
That's a good point, which is why this is, basically, a pick 'em fight. It's just that, what with Cotto looking a little ring-worn after the Margarito fight, combined with his previous problems with punch resistance - it seems to me that his beard is the more likely to crack. That said, you're right, Pac's ability to REALLY take it at this weight is not completely proven, so that made remains the X factor. Speed kills though, and I think it will tonight!!
I'd say the number one imperative for Pacquiao is the same as with the DLH and Hatton fights: don't lay on the inside! If Pacquiao can use his speed and skill to find holes in Cotto's defence and can use his footwork (which has VASTLY improved in the last few years) to control the action, I think he wins and has a chance at a cuts/stoppage win given Cotto's facial history. On the other hand, Cotto's bodypunches are going to be like nothing Pac has ever felt and unlike DLH/Hatton I can see Cotto landing a lot of them. Cotto is also as cold as a cobra and will have plenty of gameplans up his sleeve. I can see Cotto losing the first 4 rounds or so and still coming on to win by points or a stoppage. He's become underrated, after being overrated for a long time. All in all, I favour Pacquiao by decision in a classic, with Cotto making it very close and probably coming close to stopping Pacquiao on at least one occasion. This is the first time Pac will be facing a big opponent WHO WILL LAND with frequency, so anything could happen.
your better off supporting Charlie than even thinking about a real boxing match, **** your so blind you think Charlie has what it takes get the **** out of here with your soft ass predictions Cotto is going to end Pacquiao This content is protected ~~~~BORICUA~~~~WAR COTTO~~~~
We'll see. What makes this fight intriguing is that's possible. But I just think that Pac is really at the top of his game, while Cotto is, although younger, somewhat past it. I also think that Pac, because of his speed, is the more dangerous puncher. And Gotto HAS been hurt in recent fights. Again, we will see.
Solid analysis. I don't think Pac is gonna bomb Cotto out early like Hatton did. This will be a war of attrition, where Cotto is beaten down late, ala Margarito. Like I said, the X factor is how much of Cotto's pressure Pac will be able to take.
:huh Pac got nailed by Singsurat and Torrecomp or whatever the **** his name is. They've obviously both learned from their mistakes and come out on top.
