Here's the video of Bert Sugar talking with Brian Kenny of ESPN (can't watch it via the embed): [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFUQdY6Fx_M[/ame] Sugar says Pac's victory tonight puts him on the same plane with the accomplishment of Henry Armstrong in 1938. Sugar has Armstrong as his #2 all-time-best pound-for-pound fighter. Sugar says he respects that Pac Man went into Cotto's punching wheelhouse yet still got the win. That is, Pac wasn't afraid to mix it up with a legitimate welterweight. Kenny agrees with what Sugar says.
Same level as Leonard imo. A win against Mayweather and I'd have him above Duran. I haven't done a definitive list, but I have Duran hovering around the number 8 position with SRL just outside the top 10.
Kenny asks Sugar if Pac is in the teens, so that gives you a sense of where Kenny sees him, same range that Sugar has him in.
That fact that such a modern ERA HATER like Sugar has pacman TOP 20...makes you KNOW PACMAN is top 10
Pacquiao can cement a top 10 spot if he beats Mayweather.... caution tho, Mayweather is at least a good level better than Cotto, I still pick FMJ in that fight but Pacquiao certainly has given me more doubt, fabulous victory over Cotto, stunning.
