YES and its clear now more than ever.

Marquez was left standing against a bigger opponent in PBF.
Pacman left Cotto with such a beat down it made his win against Cotto look like something ive never seen before.

I mean he dropped early and was totally out for a war he wanted to exchange and were PBF even with Marquez wanted no part of anything like that.

PBF needs Pacman otherwise he he gets fights against maybe Hatton again or he would be forced to face Cotto or even Mosley.

Indisputably true. If you look at Mayweather's record, all his toughest fights, all his career-defining fights were at the lower weights. Ever since moving up to 147, Floyd has fought a carefully-picked list of title-holders and have taken the easiest road to success. The path of least resistance. All true boxing fans know this. Even Floyd's biggest fans know it, but will likely not admit it.

Pac doesn't need Floyd nearly as much. His ATG status is already cemented, and although I'd like to say the same for Floyd's ATG status, but he really hasn't fought the elite at 147. Pacquiao just destroyed the guy that Floyd chose to not to fight and instead chose retirement.. even though Floyd knew there was big $$$ in a Cotto fight.. nuff said. Floyd needs this fight.

It's a difficult one to judge, as on the face of it, yes Floyd 'needs' Pac mroe than vice verser. However, it's not as straightforward as that. Say for instance they did have a fight, and Floyd comfortably held Pacman and used his greater weight and reach advantage to a win...it'd literally do nothing for his legacy as people will just say 'Well the bigger guy beat the little guy' instead of saying 'The number 1/2 p4p champoin beat the other contender for the title'.

In that regard, Floyd really really doesn't need Pac as regards to his legacy he has everything to lose, and not a lot to gain.

"In order to be the man you must beat the man."

That's simply not true. Maybe that applies to the lineal title within a givin weight class, but what you say has RARELY been the case historically.

Pac is the man right now, especially after tonight.... I have always liked Mayweather, but will lose a great deal of respect for him if he does not fight Pac.

That's so true, right now Pacquiao's resume is probably the best in the sport, he doesn't NEED anyone now, Mayweather however, has much left to prove. There's no doubt he is immensely talented, but thats not nearly enough, he needs to seek out the best available competition & stop arsing about with his ridiculous demands.

Nope. Mostly because he would have had to beat RJJ. Beating the man means almost nothing in terms of p4p.
