There weren't even the fighters of calibre for Roy at the time anyway, Manny still has Mayweather and Mosley out there.

I still give it to Roy.... He was all around the greater fighter in my opinion, had a good resume, and showed unprecedented skill and ability in the ring...(against top opposition) although some disagree.

Easily, even in terms of facing bigger men. Ruiz would wipe Cotto's ass and be proud.

Another thing People forget how great James Toney was in the early 90s, he was easily much better than what Cotto is today, only Whitakeer was better P4P but Roy easily tapped that ass, Pac is great no doubt but he needs to keep it up a while longer IMO to surpass Jones.

People are getting way ahead of themselves but it's typical after a big win. Beating Cotto doesn;'t make Pac greater than RJJ. People are forgetting Cotto never won a title that wasn't vacant.

I see where you're going. But seriously Jones didn't face elite guys in their prime. Wasn't his fault, they just weren't there. When he fought elite guys he lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Toney was good, so was Hop but aftet that Jones was DORMANT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another thing Hopkins Bitched out in 02 after beating Tito who Roy was gonna fight until Hopkins took him out, Pac beat a peak MAB (1st fight), JMM and an overrated Cotto tonight, its not like he has beaten that many more peak elite guys, truth be told peak elite fighters are rare, I'd say Pac has really just beaten 2 in MAB and JJM, as EM was shot.

JT was considered the man then, but he was struggling with weight. Nevermind that, after Hop and Toney he never followed up. His impressive reign was over then ....?

You know like me, Roy thought he deserved a bigger share. For What, Tito was the biggest name in the game after he beat Hoya. Hop beat him and guess what he deserved 50?50 or at least close to that.

Id say he's edged Jones with this win, but its close.

He's just an incredible fighter. The performances, resume, and accomplishments speak for themselves. A shade past RJJ as i said imo.
