Cotto showed amazing heart and class.... That is what champions are made of and that is what Cotto will always be. He was beat by the better man tonight but that takes nothing away from him, he went down like a Champ and fought on till the end.

 

Quality post. The class he showed in defeat was admirable. Manny is a living legend.

I would like to see Cotto rematch Mosley later on after some well deserved rest.

I have all the respect in the world for Cotto, sympathetic person, but now he have struggled with Clottey and Manny, and he need to prove himself again

 

Had thought of him as a tuneup for Pac leading to the (inevitable) Floyd fight.

I still think that right now, obviously.

 

cotto was competitive all the way through, hes class. i totally agree with this poster. if anything, now its got me thinking that rather than hatton being totally washed up, pacman is just THAT good. i know cotto was taking a lot of punishment and for the sake of him not ending up with parkinsons its good the fight was stopped. but for the heart he showed i felt sad he didnt get to hear the final bell. he deserved it.

 

Cotto's a good fighter, real solid in several areas but horribly lacking in some others (defense, stamina)....he can stick around as a contender, but for the sake of his health, I hope he doesn't stay around that much longer. He has some real heart....and it says a lot about Pac that he was the first to legitimately buckle Cotto's knees to where he couldn't stay upright.

 

Why are you coming here using "filthy" language insulting people because your fighter lost?

You are so upset that Cotto is not that fighter you that he was. You don't like people telling you the truth about him and his fight skills.

My opinion hasn't changed, Cotto's a good fighter who put on a brave performance. Just cause he lost how does he become a bum all of a sudden? Thats what sports all about, competing against the best. Does it mean that Roger Federer's a bum because he loses the odd match? Of course not!

 

I love Cotto... I hope he goes on fighting cause no doubt he will be a champion again! Technically he only lost once....
