If what Jim Lampley said tonight on HBO's PPV broadcast is true, and the Pacquiao-Cotto fight did significantly more buys than did Floyd versus JMM, then the Manny Pacquiao Is Boxing's Premiere Draw era has begun in earnest, and we no longer have to listen to the BS from Camp Mayweather or put up with boring, non-competitive bouts.

Don't get me wrong -- Floyd still has his fans, and they will continue with their delusions about how Floyd is the best fighter pound-for-pound in the world and how he is the biggest draw, even though people don't like his fights. We all know who these people are and that they're not about to give up now.

However, if the PPV numbers come back and prove Lampley correct, then Pac Man nor us ever has to be held hostage by CherryPicker and his entourage again. Pac will be running the show and will have the leverage to set the terms of a potential PBF-Pac fight, as he should.

I still think PBF wins a fight with Pac head-to-head. PBF is too big and too skilled. If they were the same size and had the same reach I'd pick Pac, but they're not.

However, Pac no longer needs Floyd if the PPV numbers are as good as Lampley thinks they will be. He would then be a proven PPV draw, a well-known, legitimate USA box-office superstar and he fights in exciting and competitive fights that people want to watch. He's also 2 years younger than Floyd (even though I know Pac has said he wants to retire soon).

Let's hope Lampley is correct. It's way past time for the Money May Takes Boxing Hostage era to end.

I respect Floyd a ton, but I'm tired of the CherryPicker Express. Time for another train to lead the way.

And now, it seems, he will have the USA PPV numbers to back that up. That will seal the deal. Hoo-ray!

Different opponent and this fight was better quality. You can't judge Pac>Floyd cos he beat Floyd once when he beat Pac 3occassions with same fighter.

Im starting to believe *******s lack any logic whatsoever.

Not going to matter. If Pac wins this PPV showdown, especially with PBF's fight being so recent, Pac will be given the PPV King crown.

Both had long 24/7 build-ups, both were the featured guy, etc. And Pac looks like he will win the showdown.

We have heard that before. They hyped the Hatton-Pacquiao fight as having done 2.5m buys and Arum went around blowing the trumpet. Then when the truth was known Arum asked HBO not to release the ppvs.So Floyd's king, these PPVs will be 650k

Pacman rules boxing regardless of PPV sales. A great fighter has nothing to do with PPV sales. Pacman is putting his all out in fights and doesn't seem to have much fear. He has confidence. Floyd lacks confidence.

Is there a diamond crown that goes with that? Maybe the could break these up int weight divisions too, and charge sanctioning fees for them?

No, the crown is the Crown Of Leverage (if a fight with PBF is made), as well as taking over from ODLH as the premiere draw and face of boxing.

You remember PBF crying after the Baldomir fight, because it sucked so bad and Tiger Woods and Charles Barkley left?

Get ready for that same sinking feeling for PBF if the fight does the expected PPV numbers that Lampley and others are pumping-up.

Floyd's fight was on mexican independence day against a mexican. The numbers don't count. What would have been accurate would have been if the fight had gone ahead before his 'apparent' injury.

Great point -- I forgot about the "delay."

I think the crowd size sucked, too.

    Tonight's crowd: 16,200
