LOL! What a ****ing tool. God doesnt exist fool, hes a wives tail invented long ago for social control. Pac won because hes an amazing fighter, possibly the best ever. All credit goes to him. I love Cotto, wanted and picked him to win. I was wrong. Pac is a beast. Cotto tried his best but it just wasnt good enough. I have nothing but respect and admiration for both fighters. Had nothing to do with youre so-called "God"...he doesnt bet on boxing.

WTF is wrong with you children? Hatton and Cotto lose to a legit ATG (As did Barrera, Morales, Marquez, De La Hoya... The list goes on...) and now they're fighting for a milk dud championship? Their only other respective losses were to another ATG and a glove-stuffing cheat.

Give him a LIL credit. He did STUN him in the 4th. But I understand what you mean. I mean...he had every chance in the world to unleash some bombs on him when Manny was willing, but he just sorta stood there.

I too was a bit disappointed, but Manny is just a ****in' freak. I mean how many left hooks did he take and not even blink. The guy's head is a damn rock. Many questions about Manny were answered tonight and has now firmly engraved my faith in Pac.

I've always been a fan of both guys, but always a bigger Cotto supporter. But tonight...Manny just took the gameplan right out of Cotto. I think once Cotto saw that his punches werent doing ****...he just lost it mentally. His mindset to win simply turned into the mindset to survive...

In the end...he finished on his feet. Unlike his past few opponents...

 

Miguel does not suck. He is a good fighter, but his defense is not great and he likes to brawl even with having a tendency to cut.

Yes, I too noticed that Cotto was actually not really causing all that much damage. This is because Cotto actually is not that big of a puncher in the sense that he needs to cumulatively break the opponent down. To do this he needs to throw and land at a good, constant clip. I was literally screaming at the TV screen for Cotto to throw more because, like you pointed out, the opportunities were there.



When I heard Lampley say :"It seems Cotto is looking for that one-punch knockout." I almost had a seizure cause I know a one-punch knockout is exactly what Cotto does not have. For him to rely on one punch was essentially signing himself a death sentence.



Pac's knocking him down twice and the shots he tagged him with completely intimidated. . .yes, intimidated Cotto and made him gun-shy. The offensive spirit was totally taken from him by Pac.



This is the crucial difference between Cotto and Pac's nemesis JMM. When Cotto is hurt he cringes, becomes timid with his offense, stops letting his hands go and goes into that retreat mode of his, praying he escapes the round. JMM, on the other hand, when hurt by Pacquaio, it just seemed to fire him up even more and he came back with furious shots of his own.


Mexican fighters excel at this. PR fighters generally lack this quality. They have other very fine talents but that Mexican "toma y dame" ("give and take") is usually misssing. Wilfredo "Bazooka" Gomez was one of the few PR guys who could fight like a Mexican if he had to. Anyway, Cotto needed to have manned up when hit and hit Pac back, hard. He needed to be a little more Mexican, he needed a little more MAB, EM and JMM in his psyche to defeat Pac. He just didn't have that.

 

after the fight i can only give nothing but props to cotto... HE SHOWED HEART and not many boxers have that. its true that he got beat up but he didnt quit on his stool. Manny is now an ATG and its never humiliating to lose to a man with such caliber.

 

Cotto landed a few hefty shots on Pacquiao, too. Pacquiao too them well and was just awesome on the night.
