I'm a massive Cotto fan have been for a while, stayed up until 5am to watch this dude and it ended badly, i had to watch the first few rounds again just to confirm that i would indeed put up this thread (i've woken up out of my sleep to post as this has to be said), it's time for Cotto to make wholesale changes.

Seriously, Cotto either hangs up his gloves or he drops these bums in his corner. I dont know who these guys are, but they're killing the kid.

Where was the stategy? Where was the game plan? After the first round I was like "if Cotto can stick to this game plan he's gonna be o.k" He boxed the first round as he should, used his jab, kept Manny unbalanced with footwork, countered when the openings came, it was looking good.

Now whatever these chumps said in the corner after the first round who knows, but Cotto now decides that he wants to abandon what he did in the first round, now he wants to go out and bully this guy.

Manny aint no slouch, Cotto underestimated him massively as did his whole whole camp and now Cotto just becomes a slugger, plodding foward, zero head movement NONE WHATSOEVER, no jab, NO JAB!! But surely his corner would have told him at the end of the first to continue doing what your doing.

To watch Cotto's brow leaking claret as he sits on his stool(thats blood guys LOL) and these clowns havent got jack to say except holding fingers to see if their man can still see is just nonsense.

Cotto should have been stopped in the 9th, his face looked worse than the margarito fight (Plaster of paris my ass).

At the end of this i still dont like Manny all that much, maybe it's his boxing style. I'm certain Mosely and Floyd give Manny a boxing lesson, Cotto at least showed heart, but you gotta be smart in the ring, all this macho "oh you hurt me, so i'm gonna hurt you back" sh!t just needs to end.

There are so many aspects of Cotto's game that need to be changed, but his current trainers will not improve him.

Not only were they not helping him much but they didnt stop the fight when he was a pizza face, he really should get rid of them, but maybe its too late, maybe he's destroyed forever. Two brutal losses in the last 4 matches. I donno if he'll ever be what he once was

LMAO at Boom Boom!!! I wonder what he disagreed with?

But anyway, yeah, Cotto is gonna want to fight on, but it's like he was abandoned in the ring, yeah his trainer cant fight for him, but the can damn sure make sure their man is fully equipped before they send him out to battle, who are these guys the US Government...LOL! (couldnt resist)

Whats up with Cotto's face nowadays aswell, dont remember him being so easily swollen up like that, i guess he's just getting hit a lot more than usual and then when you add that thing he calls a guard and the fact he'd rather take punches on the gloves raher than slip them, i guess it's to be expected.

It wasn't their fault Cotto lost. Cotto was in there with a fast handed guy, and to be honest Cotto himself is probably a little worn out from the Margarito fight.

I had my concerns with Cottos corner after watching 24/7. There a complete bunch of amatures. Cotto made a huge mistake with Santiago!

We dont get to see 24/7 in the uk but it's plain to see that Cotto's skils are not really improving, i'd actually go as far as say he's taken steps back. He doesnt seem as disciplined, he's way to easy to hit and when he does get hit, he's there to get massive combo's as he doesnt move his head.

These are issues a good trainer would iron out (as much as possible obviously) and make him a better boxer. Which trainer i dont know, but maybe someone else needs to make the decision for him becasue right now he's just making bad decisions.

That was the key, as soon as he got caught his plan went out of the window. Compare that to the way someone like Calzaghe dealt with an early KD against Hopkins or Jones.

Cotto's corner, no matter who they are, will never be able to do anything about his inability to take punishment or stand his ground against an opponent who won't go away. Doesn't matter if it's 2004, 2005, or 2009. End of.
