His last loss was to Morales, 4 years and 8 months ago. Since then he's gone 11-0 with 8 ko's, beating 6 fighters who might get into the HOF (4 sure-shots), almost all of them in devastating, dominating fashion and doing all that in 4 different weight classes. When has a fighter put together a streak that impressive? I think you'd have to go back to guys like Robinson, Ali and Duran to find somebody who can match it.

Also remember that before embarking on this dazzling win-streak, he was already an accomplished, multi-weight world titlist and pound-for pound top-10 guy.

Pacquiao is the greatest of his time hands down until proven otherwise (read; until Floyd faces him and manages to win), and anyone who disputes it i consider impossible to have a serious discussion about boxing with.

If you read my post carefully you'll notice that i don't really go into detail about any one fight, rather i go into the overall sum of what he's done over the years, because i think that's what matters in the end.

For the same reason, when i review Mayweather's resume for example, i'm not gonna go into the fact that he got a hotly debated decision over castillo, or the fact that he didn't get a unanimous decision over DLH. I try to look at the big picture.

Marquez fought a very green Pac, one handed, left hand trigger happy with atrocious defense.

I heard pac was having a hard time making the weight he looked like skeletor in that weight in LOL

what makes you think that Floyd beating Pacquiao would make him the greater fighter? He doesn't inherit all his wins by beating him. Pacquiao is the greater fighter of his generation hands down, regardless of the outcome of Pacquiao vs Mayweather, unless Floyd consistantly starts to prove himself against top flight opposition.

+1. Although after last nights performance, I would favor Pac against Floyd, even if stylistically Floyd CAN give Pacquiao problems.

That's a good point. Yes, i agree that if Floyd beats Pac it doesn't automatically make him the greater fighter, but that's not precisely what i said. I just said that as it stands right now Pac's the greatest of his time hands down, but if Floyd manages to beat him that status at least will not be unquestionable anymore as Floyd will make himself a viable candidate for that title. If Floyd wants to enjoy the status Manny has right now, he might indeed have to do more than beat Manny in the eyes of many.

What Pac has done over the last few of years, is unbelievable and maybe unprecedented. Just in his last 5 fights he fought at 4 different divisions. Beating the calibre of opponents of JMM (yes, I thought Pac edged it), Oscar De La hoya, Hatton, Cotto.. and in the fashion he beat those last 3 bigger opponents..add to that what he did before that with Barerra and Morales..I can't remember anyone having a run like that in my time watching boxing.

I saw De La Hoya go from 130-160 over the course of his career, with titles in 6 divisions fighting the best including 7 fighters who were/became P4P#1. But he fell short in many of his biggest fights.

Likewise Roy in his career went from 154 to Heavyweight winning titles in 4 divisions and handing out boxing lessons to Hopkins and Toney. But the overall quality of his opposition left a lot to be desired and cheapens his achievements somewhat.

Mayweather won titles in 5 divisions from 130-154, remaining undefeated, but he missed fighting alot of top fighters on his way up the weights. If he had fought and beat the likes of Mosley, Tszyu, Cotto, Margarito, P.Williams..now that would've been on par with what Pac has done. But right now Pac's achievements stand alone at the top in the last 10-15 years.

    Regardless of the result. WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!

So if Maywetaher schools Pac over 12 rounds making him look like an amateur he still wouldnt be considered the greater fighter.

So really what can he do other than beat old ass Mosely to be considered greater in your opinion.

    Knock out BHOP.

I don't think anything quite like this has happened since the days of Henry Armstrong. (Armstrong jumped in weight so fast that he briefly held the titles for Featherweight, Lightweight, and Welterweight simultaneously. And then was held to a controversial draw for the Middleweight title.)

And for anyone who doesn't know, that was at the end of the 30s/start of the 40s. This is true once in a lifetime stuff.

We would have to go back to fighters of 1950's or 60's to find someone who has done what Pacquio has done over last few years. He's definately top man in boxing right now, has been to me since beating Delahoya.

Diego Corrales did beat Casamayor, Freitas, and Castillo in a row. Which to me was also an incredible run of beating primed future HOF.
