So you take the Miguel Cotto from the Pacquiao fight and match him up with the Floyd Mayweather, Jr. from the Juan Manuel Marquez fight? Who wins the fight? How?
This fight will never happen so im not going to discuss it,but the Cotto that fought Pac would've stopped the welterweight version of JMM.
Stylistically, it's always going to be a closer fight than Pac v Cotto. From what we've seen, Cotto just couldn't handle the lighting quick combinations and aggressive bursts from Pacquiao. Mayweather doesn't fight in these sports, it's just controlled and technical and disciplined all night. Therefore Cotto isn't backed up as often and has time to do what he does best, fight on the front foot and put his punches together. That said, Mayweather still wins comfortably enough, about 8-4/9-3.
Floyd wins by decision, or cuts. Floyd has better footwork, far better hand speed, and the Floyd of the JMM was as good defensively as we've seen him. Cotto would just be outmatched. I thought Cotto fought well tonight, but I've always felt Floyd was vastly superior. Cotto had a solid jab, and looked fairly quick. That being said, Miguel was a bit slow footed in getting out of the pocket and was caught with counters. Floyd would probably wobble Cotto or even drop him at some point. Cotto could try and muscle Floyd back, but I think Floyd would be to conscious of his surroundings in the ring, and not give Miguel a lot of opportunities against the ropes. PBF, wide comfortable decision.
I don't know about rather easy, but i do feel he would of beaten Cotto via semi comfortable UD. It's a shame we've missed some great fights that Mayweather could of been involved in, but all is forgiven if he fights Pacman.
Cotto 8 rounds to 4.......Floyd just doesnt have the power to hurt Cotto so whats gonna happen if Cotto plays the boxer and counter puncher and Floyd is forced to come forward to press the action? can any1 see him doing what Plasterfist and Pac did? i defiantley cant.... and with Cotto's power and quick combinations, he would be a problem for Floyd on the inside as well, given the fact that he aint got the power to stop him from working his body, which would eventually start to take its toll i just dont see his style being effective against Cotto, never did really...i just feel that you have to outfight Cotto in order to beat him
Shut the **** up Hitler. Your always discussing mythical match ups so dont give us that bull**** about this fight will never happen so you wont discuss it. Nice way to flip the question though:good :rofl:rofl
