Where does Cotto go now? Can he still be a force at welter? If so, name opponents, Mosley 2, Margarito 2? Retirement? If so how do you rate his legacy? He clearly has the heart of a lion but is there anything left...

He should spend one month just sucking on his wife's boobs and then if he still wants to continue fighting then a comeback fight against Hatton or the loser of Mosley-Berto would be good.

This is mad ignorant...Cotto was a top welterweight for a while and a main event child in the longest, he defeated Mosley, Clottely, Judah...Cotto is A class...Manny Pac is just A++++++

Cotto was an elite boxer though, thats what makes Manny's victory so great. Cotto beat Mosley, Clottey and Judah. Granted, he may not have been totally the same after Margarito, but to say Cotto was not elite is something i disagree with. For me, in his prime he was one of the better fighters of this era.

Whats this obsession with people having to retire just because they lose by KO?

Theres still plenty for him to have a go at, if he come back and couldnt even be competitive with the likes of Berto, Mosley etc then you look at things, but as it stands he's lost to an ATG and a cheat. Its hardly a disaster is it?

I know sustained beatings can take a lot out of you but we'll see. He's said he's fighting again anyway.

I don't think there's much more to be done, unless he's just looking to line his pockets. He's already been recognized as a top-class fighter at 147, so more fights against decent but not spectacular opponents aren't going to do him any favours. He's not going to crack true ATG status, either. Realistically, there's nothing more that is both achievable and worth achieving.

Mosley and Berto are tied up .

Void wont wanna know now after last night and id think Cotto wouldnt want that fight straight away .

    he's fought Clottey .

Williams is tied up as is Quintana .

Margarito is a fight that all fans wanna see , Collazo is an option and Hlatschwayo the IBF champ may need an opponent !!!!!!

Yo newbie. So a fighter that beats Mosley is not an elite fighter.STFU freshman.

As the experienced heads on here said. Manny is a phenom, a special fighter. He is a all time great, no doubt about that now.
Cotto is elite of course he is. Cotto can mix it with anyone and put up a display. The man dont get enough credit, he has acheived a hell of alot, great fighter.

    :huh:huh:huh

Cotto is DEFINETLY an elite fighter. He lost to a supremely talented, 7 weight wolrd champion, number one pound for pound best fighter on the earth, and a cheat.

He's beaten the likes of Mosley, Quintana, Judah, Clottey, Malignaggi etc.

Is it me or did Cotto's face last night look just as busted up, if not more so than it did against Margo and the iffy handwraps?

IMO Cotto needs to develop as Manny did. Years ago Manny was not the same fighter as he is today. When he met Freddie he started to change and change the boxing world. Cotto needs to get a new trainer who can make him a better fighter. He also needs to stick to the weight he can make without to many sacrifices. He's only 29 years old and he just needs to get trained in a different way just like Mosley did for the Margarito fight.
