agree - cotto showed a warrior like performance last night, even though he was loosing he showed massive heart by sticking in there and having a go back. It was a great fight by two great fighters and both guys earned my maximum respect last night

I mentioned this in another thread but his face looked as bad or worse than it did against Margo and the iffy handwraps.

Too much heart. Ref stoppage came 3 rounds too late. Anyways, great heart. Just unnecessary punishment.

Don't even bother bro, HBO's hidden agenda to **** Margarito's win to sell Cotto as an undefeated fighter was on from the announcement of this fight. (& during aswell).

Cotto defo took a beating, IMO even worse than the Margo fight.

You know...people on ESB made me really want to see Cotto get his ass handed to him - which he did. Nothing against Cotto, but I have never wanted to see someone lose so badly, mainly because in the 20 years or so I've been watching boxing, I have never wanted someone to win as much as I wanted Pacquiao to win last night. He is truly, TRULY a warrior, and one of the all time greats.

I agree totally. They did their best to make the point that Cotto was still undefeated in the boxing world's eyes.

co sign...I wanted to get on the "let's all be friends now" bandwagon, but **** THAT ****! Manny beat the **** out of that mother****er! **** Cotto, and **** his fans! Cotto deserves NO sympathy. What he deserves is a applause for not fouling Pac when the going got tough. That's all he gets from me!

    Great Thread

Cotto stayed in there to prove a point. He promised a great fight and he gave one. He couldn't do anymore he tried and that's all we should ask of a fighter.

I think you're being quite harsh but there is truth there. I was a bit disappointed he couldn't continue in the way he'd begun the fight but we know in boxing it's nearly impossible to move forward when you hit that wall. You're hurt and exhausted and there's just nowhere to go. Some people quit, some do what Cotto did and put up a meager effort, then there are the others that carry on and get knocked into next week.

But I would like to add that I do think Cotto did all he could. It just works out that way sometimes.
