That's right. Tyson should have been slung out immediately and banned sine die from the sport.

the ali throwing away his gold medal incident.
did he throw it away, did he lose it.
depends on the book, the author, and what mood ali is in .

    It was lost/stolen.

He threw it into the river in his stance against racism.

It's obvious which one is a massive fib.

    :yep

It took him about 15 years to admit it...to a muslim writer. Bet he had to be physically gagged and bound to hold that 'gem' back for so long. :)

i thought in regard to Liston vs Ali 2

Ali catches Liston behind the ear with a hard fast straight right, this ****s up his balance as he goes down so when he gets up on 1 knee and attempts to get up his balance si off and he falls over again.

that the Hagler/Leonard decision was one of the biggest robberie's ever, when in fact it was a close, competive great fight.

i actually think the second ali/liston square off was on the level...you can clearly see the punch liston gets tagged with and those punches can playnhavoc with the equilibrium..if anything, i have concerns about the first fight..relatively competitive with neithe fighter taking undue punishment, yet, liston quits....i wonder who made alot of money on that retiral...??...

re the punch in the 2nd fight.
everybody has their own opinion,i don't see how sonny could have been hurt ,ali only tapped him and only had the force of his arm behind it,leaning back if anything.
sonny got up,wether he wanted to or not is another question.jersey joe didn't begin counting, quite rightly because ali was hovering jack dempsey style.
then nat fleischer poked his unwanted nose into it and the fight was stopped.what authority did fleischer have.
the 2nd fight stunk from the 1st bell to its shitty ending

Douglas had a clear head when he was knocked down, he was just listening to the ref's count and got up at the last possible moment just so he had more time to recover. He could have gotten up earlier if he had to.
