Can I have another go? OK, I'm having another go. Sanchez - Gomez Olivares - Rose Whitaker - everybody. We'll say Ramirez second time around. Kalambay - McCallum I McClarnin - Leonard. Sad one really and not a favourite per se.
Great quote by Willie, lol,..it was written by some scribe of that era that all the punishment the "wil-o-the=wisp" Willie Pastrano avoided all throughout his career was atoned for and repaid to Willie tenfold on that one night by that horrid, onesided beating that Torres gave him.
I never said it was a top 5 of all time did I? Just one that impresses me. Jake busted Cerdan up for the most part though and it was the way that he did it that speaks volumes. Cerdan was as strong as an ox - something Tony Zale would probably have attested to if he thought no-one was listening - and LaMotta just bullied him. It's more impressive than Jones or Mayweather hammering Hall or Gatti, even if it wasn't as one-sided.
Never heard that one before....poetic irony or what? How far removed was Pastrano from his best that night do you think? Torres always had a good style to tackle him, but Pastrano looked off. Not surprising however, considering how much he loved the high life.
Okay, I'll take that it was an impressive performance from the Bull, and he certainly got the better of the majority of the rounds. The title does say all time one sided beatings, though...
Fighting Harada destroying Pone Kingpetch in there first fight is amazing also Kingpetchs KO over Perez is equally impressive
Ali-Terrell Calzaghe-Lacy Holmes-Ali Lewis-Tyson & A shot Pinklon Thomas v. Holyfield, Bowe, or Morrison
Toney-Barkley (a brutal clinic) Hearns-Duran (more a quick destruction but still a one sided beating) Tszyu-Gonzalez Chavez-Camacho Jones Jnr-Toney (the look on James' face after getting floored while mimicing Roy was priceless) Honourable mention for Bowe-Golota 2.It was probably a bit more give and take than the aforementioned fights but the shellacking Bowe copped in this fight was terrible. It should've been stopped well before the DQ in my opinion.
Hamed-Badillo: The one where he was breakdancing in the ring Hamed-Vazquez: Beatdown of a damn good fighter Trinidad-Thiam: Trinidad really showcased some very good boxing ability in this one Whitaker-Ramirez I, II: despite the ludacris decision in the first fight Camacho-Ramirez: Ramirez is a great guy for great boxers to show off against Mayweather-Gatti: Brutal Mayweather-Chavez: In the last two rounds, I think I counted 36 flush uppercuts landed Mayweather-NDou: The fifth round was breathtaking. Brewster-Golota: As Tyson-esque a performance Ive seen since Tyson. and if anyone has ever seen Tim Bowe, a journeyman cruiserweight, hes very entertaining even in a loss.
I am astonished that no -one has mentioned ,what I consider to be the obvious choice. DEMPSEY V WILLARD !
