Poor Defence. Basic box fighter with next to no power at middleweight and looks like a fighter who wants the easy route...should not be fighting at middleweight. When he steps up he will always be in entertaining fights but they will be one sided because he can't seem to understand that you need to hit and not be hit. Macklin beats him in a back and forth battle but Macklin heart and rive and extra skill beats him. Barker can beat him but needs a bit more big fight exposure and i could see him outboxing him...having a bit of trouble but beating him on points. To be all the lads on that poll can beat him as long as they prepare and adapt to setting properly they beat him imo.
He should be a Welter. I think Rhodes would beat him. Paul Williams would, well it would be horrible and savage.
I think Macklin would blast him out, to be perfectly honest....... ditto Moore. Rhodes would probably frustrate him something silly and put him out of his misery late on. Barker would outbox to a UD.
I agree but i wouldn't be shocked if Barker got jobbed out there...Chavez seems like a man who has to reach that title fight. He is really well looked after.
I feel a bit sorry for him to be honest, well as much as you can feel sorry for someone who's making a lot while far more talented fighters struggle like ****. He's ok, but the pressure on him is ridiculous all because of his name. He gets booed if he's not whooping someone, even in Mexico and is being primed for a massive fall when he steps up a level. He's going to end up in the ring with someone he shouldnt be anywhere near. But at least that'd send him off the radar.
You'd hope. But then again you'd thought the beating Holmes put on Marvis Fraizer would have put him off the radar but he would up getting a second big fight with Tyson. Some names get you one chance others get you more than that.
This is a guy with the most padded record i have ever seen in a boxing ring, Hes a ordinary fighter with a good name so he's a big draw, all the top british middleweights would beat him no problem, I think he will beat John Duddy though because he is just a human punch bag..
Does not look too in love with game, looked bored by all accounts, didn't even break out a smile when he was announced winner.
Firstly, I do think Chavez is better than what he showed last night. He looked disinterested and distracted. I think he's fed up of bums and needs a real test to inspire him. He's stale. I'm sure he'd be a British champ because we're judging Chavez by a high standard set by his fathers name. I'm sure he'd be at the mix for British titles. I don't think middleweight is his weight, he hasn't got any punch power there. He's tall and thin but he's not very strong and was backed up by Rowland, and his punches made no impact so its tough to see him against strong middleweights.
Well he has fought cans for his whole career not even the good kind he's been at the Sainsbury's Basic's level for way to long he needs to move up to the Taste the Difference counter :deal if not i'd like to see him get flattened by Korborov:bbb:good
Chavez is No 1 WBC Light Middle. Cintron is 2. Rhodes is now No 3. Moore has slipped to 8. Chavez will be forced to make a decision shortly, and if he drops back down to Light Middle then he will be made to fight a final eliminator. Hope fully against Rhodes. I think he needs to boil down to Welter.
He's in love with that ****ing punch though, and everytime he throws it your just waiting on the opponent throwing a straight right over the top and clocking him (because he doesn't bring it back up to cover his head in time). In fact he has terrible problems keeping that left arm up at all to protect himself, its as if there's a big ****-off weight inside the glove that is dragging it towards the ground. He's an accident waiting to happen IMO.
