Cotto gets stopped on cuts over his eyes. Round 6.
Manny's quick slashing shots will open up Cotto's scar tissue once again, most likely over both eyes, then Cotto turns defensive like he did against Clottey while Manny takes him apart.:-(

Hey PH|LLA, that was my post earlier in this thread.

Mainly, I figured Cotto had done his homework enough to do what I posted in my predicition.....

.....but tell me the semantics and my breakdown of the keys to victory were'nt correct???:D

I literally said that Cotto would win a boxing match or lose a war.

Cotto was having way too much success boxing early, he figured he go in for the kill.....way too early for that.....

Pacquiao however answered alot of questions I had of him. He can take the shots of a true Welter, and has the staying power not to physically get worn down by a naturally bigger man.

I've said it in other threads around here, Pacquiao was simply tremendous.
I really enjoyed the way he went about working Cotto.:good

you thought Cotto would win, but instead he got train-wrecked.

so no, your breakdown wasn't correct.

If you take off your ******* blinders off, you can read my keys to victory for both fighters.....and there just about spot on.

DId I not say Cotto needed to box patiently?

Did I not say that a war benefits Pac???

    DId I not say.......
I was absolutely correct in this assesment.

Thats the part of my assement that I was wrong in. My feeling was that if you analyzed Pacquiao's past history, he's at his best when the punches are flying and boxing gets thrown out the window.
Cotto obviously felt that being the naturally bigger man, he'd win a fight by imposing his size on Pacquiao......and it obviously was his undoing.

Listen here, nobody is taking away the merits of Manny Pacquiao......obviously it was he who lured Cotto to War with him.

.....and if you read my post with the blinders off, you'd realize that I said that breaking down this matchup was a difficult one, and that it could easily go Pacquiao's way. (Knowing fully well that Cotto nature is having that punisher's mentality.)

I'm certainly not one of those that were exclaiming, "I see no possible way for Pac to win. Cotto will punish Pacquiao!"

You must have me confused with the real haters on this board, because all I did was come in your thread and breakdown the fight the way I envisioned it.....and certainly my keys to victory were absolutely correct!:deal

Divac, you are asking too much.... He created this thread and invited people to vote and give their opinion, but when people started saying that Cotto was going to win and the votes were going Cotto's way then he called those posters Haters.....isn't that stupid?????

So don't expect him to accept that you actually did a good pre-fight analysis, if he does, it will be a miracle....

Obvously his agenda all along was to have the opportunity to say, "I told you all haters so."

....and obviously there are alot of haters in boards like this.
......but to call anyone who picked Cotto to win a hater is ignorant.

Alot of people came into this thread and simply made a pick without anykind of analytical input as to why.

As somebody analyzing a fight and trying to make a prediction........I'm certainly going to back my prediciton of how the fighter should go about accomplishing it.

.......you know thinman, I did it with the Pacquiao-DLH fight as well.......I noted in my pick back then that it was sheer weight and size that would beat Pacquiao.....and in that prediction I noted that if the matchup was a P4P one in that both fighters weighed the same climbing the ring, Pacquiao would beat DLH much in the same manner he had done MAB.....I was right in that assement as well.

.....I've been in this forum for many years, and alot of you have come to know me as the poster with the long drawn out posts (I do like to cover the basis for my assesments)

I'll tell you, I love breaking down a fight and be right about it......(not particular just the bottom line of winning and losing, but the breakdowns of what each fighter must seek to accomplish as far as gameplan.)

.....guys like PH|LLA dont like that, and simply want bottom line predictions.
I cant control the way a fighter is going to go about doing his job, so I'm certainly going to give out a breakdown to the different possible scenarios.....

......and to all the *******s who think I'm hating on Pacquiao, sit down and take a read of my initial post and realize that "divac" broke it down pretty nicely!:thumbsup

dude, justify it anyway you want.

Are you saying that if Cotto had followed the gameplan you laid out he would have won? That it was merely a case of having a bad strategy?

To say that I simply want bottom line predictions is not representative of my posting history at all.

Here's one of my previous posts in this thread.

Although, Divac doesn't say it directly. The bottom line now is Divac now loves Pac. W/ Pac's lopsided victory, he is now a believer of Pac.
