Well done Gary Young 'NEW SCOTTISH WELTERWEIGHT CHAMP' after defeating the gobshite McMillan. Just spoke to him on the phone after the fight from out here in Iraq and justice has been served after all the bad-mouthing and posturing in the press by the classless Gary 'THE NED' McMillan. :happy

 

show a bit of class. Gary was trying to talk up the fight to sell tickets, this is boxing. I don't think you can go about calling a lad who has dedicated his life to a sport and lives clean a "ned" just because he mouthed off a wee bit to a journalist.

it was a close fight although i thought mc millan won by 2 rounds,in saying that i was a good bit away from the ring and it was a hard fight to score.

 

No, I wasn't at the weigh in cookiluv, as out here in Iraq, but spoke to Gary Yung on the phone after the weigh in and he saw the penny drop in McMillans eyes after all the mouthing off and knew he had him then. Just spoke to Gary after the fight and he gave credit to McMillan for making it an awkward fight in which McMillan split his own eye trying to use the head. But at the end of the day, class told and after 2 frustrating years of injury and dodgy yank promotors, Gary Young has boosted Scottish boxing with an excellent comeback! WELL DONE MY SON!

 

Aye, just spoke to my bud who was at the fight, he thought Mcmillan won it as well, thought he was kinda robbed:think

 

Man, I thought people only got mugged outside the pavilion, poor Gary McMillan was robbed INSIDE:-(

I was at the fight tonight, as a pure neutral. I like Young, & I like McMillan.
Gary Young had a big support shouting the place down, & the ref bottled it gave Young it by a point.
Most people were dumbfounded by the decision, including me.

Honestly, I only gave Gary Young one round in the fight, the final round. McMillan boxed the ears of Young, using his jab to great effect, & he had Young in big trouble in the second round.

Hometown ref though somehow managed to have Young winning the fight:huh It really was that bad folks. & I say this as a neutral, who hopes Gary Young has a fine career. But he didnt win that fight, it was a shocker of a decision by a ref who obviously just wanted to please Youngs noisy fans.

Honestly, I feel heart sorry for that McMillan kid. Young didnt win that fight.

 

Just got back from the fight. I like Gary Young a lot, and i was wanting him to win, but McMillan was robbed if i'm being honest. I had Young only winning 2 rounds out of 10!
