Thought you were not going to go down the comparing road? Mormeck was a Don King fighter fighting in his own backyard infront of his own fans and Haye knocked him out. That eclipses Hattons greatest ever night when he wrestled, hugged, fouled and low blowed an aging Kosta Tsyzu in front of 20,000 screaming Brits and a homer ref.Tsyzu has done nothinbg since just like Mormeck so your point being? The aged journeyman you talk about was a former world champion and very durable,Haye took him on in his 10th pro fight.Hatton took on Paul Denton in his 10th pro fight a guy who had lost 9 of his 16 previous fights. As I said Haye is light years ahead of Hatton and every stat in the book backs that up.
IMO, Haye at the moment is going through the same sort of hysteria he received after beating Enzo Mac.... this slowly ebbed away and no doubt it will again. Until he gets in there with the Klits, something he promised us years ago now, I'm keeping my eye on Mr Haye and his promises.
Surely Hatton hasn't been able to watch his loss to Pacquiao if he keeps mentioning winning the 2nd round by a mile. Maybe those around him just told him that to console him a little.
Urango is a 2 time world champion and has beat Ngoudjo and Bailey who are decent operators. For a boxer that has only had 25 fights, its not bad is it? And Malignaggi having 'feather fists' - how does this affect if he is world class or not? :huh Do you not rate Whitaker, Pep etc. because they weren't big punchers? Sorry, but that is pretty disrespectful, and TBH, it shows that a fighter has a lot of skill if he doesn't have the power to put a dent in top fighters, yet can still win the fight. Haye's record is very good - in 24 fights he has beat Mormeck, Valuev, Enzo and Fragomeni who have all held a version of the world title in the past/present and beaten other contenders such as Kelly, Gurov, Barrett and Rossitto who were all Euro level/contenders. Your not going to find many Brit fighters having a better record than that, and even less who have a better record after just 24 fights. And do not refer to Carl Thompson as a ****ing journeyman :deal He was a aged warrior :yep
I disagree. The amount of fights he had is irrelevent, and I had exaclty this same type of argument (battering a storm) after the Enzo win only to find the majority of the forum falling into line with my views about six months or so la,ter. Personally a stinker of a freak fight win against Valuev does nothing hugely for me to change my mind. Let him take on the Klits then lets see what he is made of. His best win is still again Mormeck who was at the end of his career and no great by any means. I genuinely am starting to thing that Haye is playing a game and there are a lot of people falling for it. If you genuinely think that fighting Enzo Mac, an old Valuev and an old Ruiz equates to greatness and taking on all comers, then so be it.
Yeah I'm not sure the number of fights Haye has had is anything to brag about. The guy is 29 years old, he won't be having that many more fights.
Carl Thompson was a world champion at the time he beat Haye David, you remember that thread-the one stating Haye and Booth have some sort of higher power in their corner.
Thompson was a fearsome British fighter no doubt and he deserves great respect on the scene he fought on, but his biggest claim to fame apart from beating Haye, is beating a cooked former middle weight in Eubank IBO International Boxing Organisation cruiserweight title - which stood for even less back then than it does now.
That's a world title, especially when 'Hatton' is in the thread title :nonoRahman/Vitali has been years
