I thought it was very entertaining but it was just a card put together to get Brits interested in the sport and to see British winners. Randy vs Vera was a very interesting fight.
I watched some of it, and it was a dud. I hate watching fights that aren't live. Though I did think it was amusing that they kept declaring, "Live from England!" and then inserting 4 minute commercial breaks between rounds. Hmm. So fighters get 4 minutes now to recoup? :rofl The Couture/Vera fight was ridiculously bad. There was a lot of jostling against the cage all night, but this one took that to an extreme. On this particular night, Cotto and Pacman stole the show, as far as I am concerned. That was a dandy.
I enjoyed the show im glad I didnt order Pacman-Cotto I watched it on stream and thought it was disapointing Cotto ran to much.
Really? I respect your opinion but I'm surprised. Cotto started retreating around the 8th or 9th but before that, esp. rounds 1-5 were a frickin brawl man. I thought it was a hell of a war for the most part.
It was alright. Winner's knockout was nice. Glad that James Wilks got beat as well, seems like a right pompous twat.
UFC 105 wasn't half bad. You gotta find streams that stream it at 3pm. Pearson and Riley was one sided. Seemed like Riley was looking for a way out as soon as he entered the fight. As soon as he got cut, you could tell he wanted the fight ended. Bisping and Kang was a let down cause Kang did so good in the first round and I was hoping he'd win. Of course Kang gasses and quits after getting punished. Don't know how they gave this fight Fight of the Night. Brown and Wilks should have taken fight of the night. A much better fight than Bisping and Kang. I thought Hardy and Swick was pretty good. I honestly thought Swick would be too much for Hardy. I am glad Hardy pulled it off though. Vera and Couture was the worse fight of the night. Vera did way more damage and Couture pretty much just cage humped. I would have given the win to Vera but neither really went for it. Sad ending to a pretty decent card.
had it on dvr since I was watching the Pac/Cotto fight, began watching it right after boxing, feel asleep during the Bisping fight, woke up when Couture was getting his hands raised. from the looks of it, it was as bad as I anticipated.
It was okay. Pearson looked good and so did Winner. Kang was disappointing again. I really like the way Matt Brown fights. He's an aggressive, technical brawler type and he went right after the hole the Wilkes had on TUF; he drops his hands when he punches and leaves his head up in the air to be hit. I thought Vera won that fight. There wasn't much to score on and what there was was on Vera's side. Holding a guy against the cage not doing anything for 80% of the fight doesn't score points IMO.
You are right the first several rounds was great stuff but once Cotto started running away it just ruined it for me because he just wanted to survive at that point.
Main event wise: Cotto vs Pacman was way better. Card wise: UFC 105 had a number of good fights while the boxing was pretty dull until the main event
This is why I dont order boxing anymore the undercards usually have crappy matchups and bad fights and more often then not the main event turns out to mediocre at best.
