To be honest I'm a bit fed up with these ignorant posters, some of which have **** all idea about boxing and what it takes to get inside those ropes. Plain mugs basically. Everybody is entitled to free speech and all that but some of the comments regarding Cotto have been pretty pathetic and dis-respectful. All the guys seems to get is criticism, I'm missing something? The guy has fought tough tough opposition throughout his career- Mosley, Clottey, Judah, Margarito,Corley, Quintana, Torres etc etc! Give the dude his dues, he is a hell of a fighter, a Warrior. The guy got cut to ribbons by that cheating **** Margarito but he comes back and steps back under the ropes and into the fire. **** the weight issue Lets face it Pac is a different level fighter, an all time great, a phenom, an icon. Also it is quite clear that Pac is a 140-147 fighter now, his body is comfortable and that weight and is at peak. Ok Cotto is the naturally bigger man. Either gave him a ****ing fight and went out on his sword. The due is brave man, to withstand that pressure from Pac. Give the Warrior his due man, he is a three-time champ and he has provided alot of excitement for the boxing fans, he is a top fighter and has ****ing balls.
:deal I'm a huge Pacfan but Cotto is still one of my top 5 favourite fighters. A true gentleman and a man with so much heart. In the final round I was hoping he'd make it to the bell.
cotto gave manny a good fight but the pacman is on another level atm cotto needs a new trainer to get him back to his original stalking style and tighten up his defence. he is though a classy fighter and a classy human being with a big big heart
Solid solid post...Its disgusting to see some of these posts. Cotto went out like a true warrior. He has given us some exciting fights and jus becos he lost to a fighter who is arguably the top P4P fighter of our generation doesnt mean he is over rated. The guy deserves all the credit for what he has achieved inside the ring.
Often the things you said didn't make sense. You don't go out on a sword, you go out on a shield. The due is brave? The **** does that mean? And IMO, Cotto didn't go out on his shield, he didn't do the opposite and quit, but going out on his shield implies he went out fighting, when he actually went out trying not to fight. It seems Cotto wanted to have a cake, but also eat it at the same time. To finish the fight without fighting. Mad respect for Cotto, though. His courage is inspiring. Really. He's brave and tough and he's got intensely sizable nards.
Cotto epitimises what boxing is all about, Manny got the better of him on fight night but Cotto showed he is a warrier.
What impresses me about Cotto is his determination. Even though now, he knew Margarito's gloves were questionable and possibly loaded with plaster, he still went through the fight with PAC.. And when he fought PAC, he never quit. He gave out all his best against PAC.. It's just that PAC was the better fighter that night... Cotto is a warrior..
