    The only people that has the right to have an ATG list are the likes of Bert Sugar and other old boxing sages.

    An ATG list made by a ***** troll = waste of internet space.

    That's actually a pretty good list. Funny how the Pacquaio manics can't deal with it. No details as to why. Is it a perfect list? No, but it's better than most of generals list. I bet half of the people on general can't recognize 5 of the names.

    Thats saying a lot, Bert is more Nostalgic about the old fighters than the classic section here.

    Bert doesnt even have Mayweather in his top 100;

    Beating Cotto is a great win but it has to be put into perspective. Cotto has never won a title that wasn't vacant. He's a good fighter but not great he was never the man in any division he fought at. Still a sold win but it doesn't automatically vault him into the top 20 ATG, if Pac beats PBF then I would say yes without a doubt.

    Who cares what Burt Sugar says? He is full of crap anyway. Manny is a great fighter but it will be very hard for him to crack top 20 because todays fighters simply dont fight as often as they used to. Those old timers fought several times a year. Sugar Ray Robinson once had a rematch with LaMotta after 3 weeks, can you imagine Pac and Cotto having a rematch that soon? Look at SRL, he fought Duran 3x, Hearns 3 times, Hagler, Benitez, etc. Thats equivalent to Pac fighting Mayweather 3 times, cotto twice, De la hoya, Hopkins, etc.

    Pac is a great fighter though, no disputing that.

    Here's a thought.

    What if PACMAN fought in different era? What if PACMAN fought in the time where boxing was in its golden years and those you mentioned in your ATG 20 fought today?

    Theres only two problems with your list, Ali should be top 5. He would easily make top 3 for me. Also I don't think Gene Tunney deserves to be mentioned in the top 20, some of the boxers he faced are just horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible horrible fighters.

    Manny is top 30-35.

    Bert Sugar is gay, have you actually seen his top 100 boxers ever....it's ****en horrendous.

    am i the only person who really hates it when people make these so called ATG lists? how can you be truly accurate about these lists and so adamant of your opinion when you haven seen these boxers first hand sometimes?

    all youve seen is grainy old b&w footage and all you know of is second hand accounts of their accomplishments of some fighters, which cannot be put forward as proof as efficiently as actual first hand accounts of fighter's careers IMO

    Now personally i can go right back about M.Alis times in terms of being able to judge ATG standings purely from footage, and some knowledge of important opponents etc. but i prefer only judging boxers from my times- mid 90s.

    bit of a rant! haha :)

    For a start I feel ATG lists are irrelevant as they're always subjective and people always have their favourites. What is relevant is that Manny is putting in superb performances but unfortunately the critical/historical merit of Saturday's performance will be tainted by the fact that he didn't fight the 'biggest and best' Cotto as Cotto was forced to fight below the weight of the belt he was defending by this ridiculous catchweight bull****. Who's to say that if Cotto had come any heavier that it would've made any difference given the way Pac fought, but there will always be that footnote. Anybody who says Cotto wasn't drained by the extra weight loss is talking garabge.That's why Freddie Roach was so insistent on it. Manny is putting in quality performances but as long they are cathweights in the manner we are witnessing then for me they will always have an asterisk next to them

    Gene Tunney, Barney Ross, Jimmy McClarnin, Marvin Hagler, Tony Canzoneri, Alexis Arguello -- how are their resumes/performances so much better than Pac's that you can't even talk about him taking their spot on the list?
