It seems to me there are folks that don't want this fight to happen. They're wishing for a reason to blame PBF for causing this fight not to happen. No matter how much Floyd agrees to find Manny, they will suggest he's not sincere. He calls GBP to tell them to start negotiations, but somehow he really doesn't want to fight Pac because he's scared of Pac. For those who don't want to this happen, explain yourself.
I think that deep down inside, Sr. is hurt and bothered by the fact PBF has pretty much gone through his whole career without him in the corner. Im sure once Sr. realized was a talent his son was, he envisioned them being a great father and son team, winning many titiles together, but all of that happened with roger instead. Even thouhg PBF and his dad seem to have reconciled personally, I still think that it bothers his dad that he's nit in Floyd's corner for the big fights.
Sr cant see anyone being successful without being jealous, the guy only cares for himself i cant forget seeing Hatton lying down in the canvas like he was dead and Sr didnt even checked to see if he was ok. The guy is garbage plain and simple.
to be honest i didnt want to see it before this fight, but after seeing just how amazing pac can be, i am a bit more interested. I really thought it would be a big mismatch and have always thought that in favor of floyd and wanted him to take on mosley.... but im starting to think pac can win or at least be competetive. i know am hyped about this fight.
Mayweather is 32 years of age and has fought only once in the past two years or so. While I certainly think its possible that he can take Pac, I wouldn't bet money on it at this point. Manny has really looked like a terror in his last few bouts, and giving him the opportunity to ad Mayweather as a scalp to his head collection would probably ensure that we'd see the best showing of him yet. Floyd has been telling us for years that he's ready to retire. His recent win over an aging, but still very serviceable Marquez made a fine last win in my opinion.. It's time for Mayweather to join the long fraternity of retired greats.....Though who knows if he's ready to make that decision.
I'm back and forth. As someone said so perfectly in another topic, Pac is defying odds and PBF never goes against the odds. I'd like to see Mayweather fight Paul Williams, and show he can go out there and fight someone that seriously threatens his record. Floyd would earn all my respect after that. Also, I've felt like PBF is still bigger than Manny, giving him the edge. But then, The Pacquiao/Cotto fight happened, and Pac looked like a stud showing he can deal with truly bigger, stronger opponents. This threw a wrench in a lot of my logic. I still feel like Williams would give Mayweather a tougher time than Pacquiao. I still don't know, My opinion changes by the minute. But, I definitely the Pac/PBF fight would be great for boxing, and a HUGE event.
If you don't wanna see this something's up. Either that or you're so much of a fan of a fighter that is 'missing out' as a result of this fight that you are actually bitter.
