Everyone keeps saying how many holes are in his game. Everyone has holes, no one is perfect. Fedor's the best because no one's done anything but talk about his holes.

Personally, I feel he's striking more now to please the american audience. This is even more impressive. He could have just taken Arlovski down but didn't bother. Why do you suppose that is?

I've been a pride fan since the get go so I got to see Fedor at his prime, and now seeing his last few fights I can safely say he is no longer the MMA p4p king. That title belongs to Anderson Silva. Compare both of the fighters last few fights. I love Fedor but man, he's not the same fighter he was in Pride. Which makes me rethink his reasons for not joining the UFC. His legacy imo IS secured, but will have a blemish at the end if he never ends up fighting in the UFC.

IMO Rankings should be absolute. You can't go down even when you win.

his mental game makes him the strongest....he will find a way to win, a weakness, and if any opponent finds a weakness in him, they better act fasst because he adapts quicker than a chameleon in an explosion in a paint shop....

true, but Anderson Silva didn't lose either. To me he went up because the people he fought, how he won those fights and how he dominated a higher weight division. He can hold the MW and LHW belts if he wasn't Machida's butt buddy. People may argue that the HW division has the biggest weight difference and Fedor fought the freak show Hong Man Choi in one of his recent fights, but Hong has no skill imo and the japanese are a crazy bunch and love seeing sideshow matches so they get fighters like him, Giant Silva and Zulu. It's more entertainment than anything else.

But I would love to see Fedor drop weight and join the heavily stacked LHW division thoe. He has the height for it and can drop the excess weight to do it too, I mean he is not the leanest and most ripped fighter out there. If he dropped weight and retained the power and gained speed, man....that would be so effin awesome to see. Then we can have a match between Fedor and Silva to see who the true MMA P4P king is... sorta like what's happening in boxing now with Mayweather and Pacman.

Sorry to kinda hijack the thread and I almost forgot to answer the thread's question.

Fedor is ONE of MMA's G.O.A.T. because his striking power (e.g. his one punch destruction against Zulu and Sylvia), ground game (how he seamlessly pulls off armbars on his back still amazes me), ground and pound (he's relentless with his attacks and hits like a bull, nogueira can cosign with my statement), his chin, defense, recovery speed, intelligence & heart (he took a solid punch to dome from ironhead fujita that would knock out most people, stayed on his feet, clinched, recovered and ended the fight with a choke. not to mention how he recovered, stayed calm and pulled out a kimura out of his ass after he was slammed on his head by kevin randleman. oh yea, he also refused to tap after mark hunt had him in a tight kimura too.)

the only downside I see with fedor is that he gets cut easily. his first loss was from a cut and he had to postpone his 2nd fight against nogueira because of their accidental headbutt. linland cut him pretty bad and brett ****ed his nose up too having blood gushing out.
