Mayweather wont take this fight peroid, he does not want to take this risk and said a flat "no" to a 50/50 split.
He is a coward compared to Pac.

Pac has come from a lighter weight and bet a better WW then Floyd has fought. Even his dad said he wouldnt want to fight him.

People come to watch Pacquiao fight.
People come to watch Mayweather lose.

    That's the difference.

You can't credi the opponent with floyd getting more buys because against the same exact opponent manny couldn't get the same numbers. Against DLh he got half as many buys and against marquez it was like a third as many and that's with people having the option to pay just 12 bucks to see it at the theater.

I understand the argument of pac being the more accopmplished fighter, but that has never meant anything. The guy that deserves the bigger split is the guy that puts more asses in seats. Last night was pac's chance to prove that he deserves 50/50 against floyd. Anything less than 900k buys and he deserves 60/40

Mayweather should get 40%. He done nothing for years apart from beat a fighter 2 weight divisions lower than him. P4P number 1 is not a title you have forever. You have to constantly prove yourself and fight the best.

Mayweather Jr has done none of these things. Pac has been on the cover of TIME magazine and due to his interesting background (coming from the philipines, moving up the weight divisions, beating LEGENDS in their prime such as Barrera) he has a lot more sellable story than Mayweather.

Again. If he doesn't break a million buys you can't say that his story is more sellable. If it was more sellable, more people would be willing to buy it. I'm still waiting to see the PPV numbers from saturday before betting on this poll

They will never fight if the purse is not 50/50. It will take them all of next year to come to an agreement. There both going to make the highest purse in boxing history. I say @ 147, 50/50. Lets get it on!

50-50, but if anyone gets a bigger cut it should be Pacquiao.

what they should REALLY do is give 55 to the WINNER, and 45 to the LOSER.

your point is an attempt to live in the past.
those were the fights that served to create todays circumstances.
we know this isn't about old numbers. boxing is now. you're only as good as your last performance and lamply reported, during pac cotto that the fight outsold mayweather marquez.
don't worry. we have some time. we'll wait for that to sink in for you.

I acknowledged that good and plenty in my previous posts that the previous fights were before manny got this big. Saturday's numbers are what really matters. It will sink in to me once I see that Manny vs Miguel did over 1 million buys. If it did, I think that FLoyd will surprise you all by being a reasonable negotiator.

On the other hand, if Manny vs Cotto did anything less than a million buys, I just don't see how you can make a case for a 50/50 split. That would mean that floyd did better despite being in a fight of no historical significance and the fans having the option to watch it in the theatre for a fraction of the price

Manny for one simple reason people pay to see him fight. I go to Vegas all the time for big fights. This weekend was one of the most amazing atmospheres I have been in for a fight so far. Floyd's last fight against Marquez I got offered discounted ringside seats 2 days before the fight. And every Pacquiao fight I have gone to was sold out the first week. Even the pit boss's at the Casino say they give away Mayweather tickets the day of the fight to fill seats.

:happyBoth fighters are going to make crazy money. While I do believe that Pacquiao probably deserves more I just want to see this fight happen. This will blow DLH/Maywether out of the water. Being Mexican-American I can reassure you that my community really wants to see this fight (as does anyone else), but what I am trying to say is that money will be pouring in from all communities (Hispanic, Black, White, overseas. Make it happen Top Rank and Golden Boy!!!!
