Benitez and Hearns were unbeaten when SRL defeated them Hagler had

not lost in 11 years and Duran 8 years when SRL defeated them

Oscar,Hatton & Cotto had all lost within the past 18 months of Pacman

beating them. All those fighters had previously been knocked out, and so

had MAB with junior Jones. Leonard beat fighters who were thought to be

invincible. Pacman beat fighters that others had already defeated recently

Of course a win over Mayweather, would be in the same class as one

    of SRL big four wins

The list of people who have a better resume then Ray is very short.

Pac's is clearly the best of this era at this stage.

Agreed. But very few resumes compare to SRL and Pac's is the closest among all active fighters.

Not close to that resume. The guys Pacman has fought the last 3 fights have been good, but not unbeatable, and as a matter fact every guy he fought was beaten within the last year and a half of fighting them.

    not at all:patsch

pac is still a great fighter regardless if he can match sugar ray leonard or not. I know one thing, pac is so good that he should be blessed with the sugar moniker

SRL beat the best of his time, Pac beat the best of his time...their comparable. You can argue points that would suit yours but thats irrelevant. SRL was the best of his era, Pacman the best of his era, nostalgia aside, that would effectively make them comparable.

I agree SRL is greater but not off a different scale. In 20 years time MAB, JMM, Morales & Pac would be remembered as the fav 4 featherweights...it would be remembered that pac beat all of them, it would be remembered that he didnt stop there, he went up 3 more weight classes and dominated. His fights will be classics people will refer back to as they do now with SRL-Hearns, SRL-Duran etc. History will remember him kindly I assure you that.

What's the point? Is this another of those deep-rooted hate? If he doesn't compare to anybody then so be it. As for me, he's a phenomenon!

Comparison: both multi weight world champions, considerd pound 4 pound the best in each of their primes.

Pac has won more world titles and has travelled up more weight classes to do so. He is also beating his oponents in a more devastating fashion.

This is not a insult to Sugar Ray Leonard. I am merely stating that they are cut from the same cloth and can fairly be compared.

I actually think Pac's resume could well have more depth, but SRL's wins at the top stack up with just about any fighter in history. So really, it's all a matter of personal preference.

Manny has a comparable resume agaisnt the best in his era.....SRL did as well. THe differnce is PAC is dominating on his way up. SRL had great battles...back and forth...close competive fights and YES...at the time they were considered unbeatable for the most part and SRL did his damn thing. Where PAC catches up with SRL is HOW HE DOMINATED. SRL still ahead but PAC ain't done yet.
