I think this fight is a close, really. My gut instinct says Floyd, but, would not be surprised if Manny beats him based on Manny throwing more.
Off the top of my head.. I think its like this... Styes: Working against PBF: Pressure fighters do well against PBF (Hatton had it working, so did ODLH). Pac can pour on lots of pressure,. Working against Pac: Technical fighters do well against Pac, as we saw with Cotto steadily landing the jab, uppercut and occasional left hook. Speed: I think this one might be even. Pac is FAST, but PBF is blinding fast.. its hard to determine without seeing them toe to toe. Power: I'm giving this one to Pac. I don't think PBF has the one shot power to drop Pac, but I do think Pac could catch PBF and possibly drop him. Chin: Pac has been KO'ed, but not the past 10 years. PBF has not. Also, I saw Cotto briefly wobble Pac coming off the ropes. Does PBF have the power of Cotto? Conditioning: Equal. Both guys are in tremendous shape. Trainer & Corner: Equal. X Factor: Pac could be distracted with all of the nonsense going on in his life. Floyd could be distracted by the IRS or his own insecurities. Who knows. Overall, I think Pac is on top of his game and building, while Floyd has been coasting. PBF is the one with something to prove. Pac could skip this fight and nobody would fault him for it.
It's not a given but PAC's awkward style, the speed, explosivness, and spuratic offense definitly cause Floyd his own problems timing and countering PAC....but he can catch him....just like PAC can catch Floyd, but he'll need to corner him which will be a fight in itself....b/c it's floyd. But while I do see Floyd beating PAC by a Decision I hve a hard time being confident in that prediction given PAC's recent domination over Cotto. Floyd will need to stay on the outside....try to fight pretty much like he did with JMM although that tatical gameplan will have to be revised numerous times during his encounter with PAC in order to survive...if he can't adapt PAC will end things early. BUT FLOYD IS A MASTER a adapting......the question is how many times can he adapt in one fight where PAC will force him to make these adjustments to avoid loosing that "0".
I have to give Pac the speed. Floyd is fast, but Pac is faster. Floyd shots one punch at a time Pac punch more.
Yes, Pac will have the advantage of throwing quick, hard, awkward combos that PBF may not see coming. I could see an early flash knockdown here. Floyd will throw lots of jabs, occasionally lead with a left hook or straight right, pop pop pop, then back out.
