and beats Shane (it's definitely possible after what we've seen last Saturday) and then retires to run for congress. Where does that leave Floyd? He'd be pretty screwed I think. Pac would have just beaten the best welterweights and then effectively taken himself out of the equation.

That leaves Floyd with no one of consequence to fight unless he moves up to face someone like Williams, and even then, while it would be a legacy building fight, won't be as big a money making fight as Mosley (before he fights Pac) or Pac.

That made me think that for all the B.S. that will be spewed from both camps during negotiations, there's no way in hell Floyd will let this fight get away from him. I think he will eventually agree to 50/50. Floyd needs this fight for his legacy and it will make him the most money since his fight with Oscar.

Pac doesn't need it as much as Floyd because his legacy is already set, a win over Floyd would catapult his ATG status for sure, but even without Floyd, he's already pretty high-up.

Floyd needs this fight and I think he won't let it slip away...

That would be hilarious. And devastating for Floyd's legacy since he will be frozen out of WW, as his two biggest two challenges would be left-overs. Everyone would say, Pac got to them first. If Pac leaves and runs for congress, the only way Floyd would stay relevant at WW is if he does something like KO Mosley in the 2nd round.

Like so many others have said, the idea of Pac taking Cotto out before Floyd did two years ago would have been just absurd until it actually happened. Margo is also gone obviously as Shane took care of that, so no more legacy fights, no more big money fights.

He'd had have to move into middle and take on the likes of Pavlik which is not happening.

When it comes to Pac, anything's possible.

yup...it could happen and he might also take a shot at Yuri Foreman....the guy is the easiest...according to Roach but the "Master" is salivating over floyd...he really wants Manny to kick his ass...He said they will train intently and study hard on Mayweather moves....will toughen up PAC a bit more so he can take Floyds best shots...and hit him all over...arms, shoulders, anywhere...so that Floyd will feel the pain...Roach really want to beat up Floyd if he can do it himself he'll try but he got Manny to do it for him....So I think Floyd should think twice before accepting the fight with Manny....They are preparing an ambush for him....He may not walk on his feet after the fight....

I doubt that Pac/Mayweather won't' be made in the end. Floyd's basically cornered with nowhere to go. If he ducks out of this one, he won't be able to live it down and he probably knows this. Fight will probably happen.

It might even be more of a hit on his legacy than actually fighting and losing. If he lost, he'll at least get the credit for having taken the fight and could come back against Shane (if he hasn't fought Pac by then) or rematch, at least from me. He might say legacy doesn't pay bills, but I doubt it doesn't keep him up at night. I remember all the whining after he retired and realized no one really cared.

God, if Berto beats Shane...I don't even want to think about it. We might see Floyd/Berto and see the same **** that was tossed around after the Baldomir fight.

I would not be unhappy with this scenario I actually think it is a great idea Pac would beat shane at this point UD all night for Pac.

There isn't much hate in the thread. A lot of people, including the press agree that Floyd's resume lately isn't all that impressive and agree that Floyd needs to turn up the level of his opposition. If Floyd doesn't fight Pac or Shane, who else can he fight that can be considered as a top level opponent?

I'm from the West Coast, Bay Area. I was born here since 84. The only people I know who do that are my cousins, they're in middle school. :yep
