You mean Margo ruined him? I don't thinnk so. Maybe like Kirk said that he seems to handle pressure even worse now, but other than that he still had the same attributes. Santos should really retire if he doesn't decide to take the sport seriously once and for all. By the way, excellent post Kirk, I agree although if it was me, I would probably take a tune up next year and try to get Yuri Foreman to see if Cotto can become a 3 weight world champion, but other than that I Agree with your points :good

let's be honest cotto looked better and faster against pacquiao then he did against clottey.....this was his best performance he had against a world class opponent since the mosley fight...

cotto still has 2-3 fights left IMO....he should fight the loser of berto/mosley.....cotto is not in the hall of fame IMO.....when it comes to hall of fame standards at the moment he is on the level of hatton and gatti....which is sad, because cotto is the better boxer then those guys, but that's reality...

I think Cotto has at least 3 or 4 fights left in him. Nothing wrong with fighting the best and losing. I think he should definatley get a new trainer who gets him to move his head a bit more

Everyone signing off on Cotto !!! after 2 defeats ...any defeat is a bad defeat ...the defeats were NOT in succession ...this aint JERMAINE TAYLOR people ...

People said Ali was shot after the thriller in manilla ...
People said Holyfield was done after Bert Cooper (even tho he stopped him)
People said BHop was shot after Calzaghe ....
People said Foreman was crazy ..how can a 45 yr old OLD man win the Champ strap ...

I do think tho ..this fight WILL have a major effect on Cotto ...its humbling to meet someone yu will never be able to beat ...ask Naseem Hamed when he met Barrera ...ask Tyson when he met Holyfield ...

That dont however mean he is not and can never be great ...

He can do a Money May and cherrypick his opponenets ..build up a 10 win streak
Will we still call him shot ????

Cotto can still improve Capitan. He just needs to polish his already impressive skillset. A new trainer is needed, there is no need for him to quit like now. **** Margarito!

He needs to retire. He is getting destroyed in these fights. He needs to quit. If you have any humanity in you, you shouldn't want see this man getting pounded again.

He's damaged goods, just like Teddy Atlas said. He cannot properly defend himself. He's going to end up like Meldrick Taylor who was damaged beyond repair. If you've seen MT today, he is in sad shape.
