With heavyweight battles of the last ten years, (from 2000 onwards), will go down as classics by your own reckoning ?

Do n't know about classic, but Lewis-Klitschko would be the most exciting fight Lennox was ever in for me.

ibeabuchi vs tua no question, true elite athletes throwing bombs non stop in the center of the ring for an entire 12 rounds. no we have fat asses who get tired after throwing ten punches, then it turns into a clinch fest for the remainder of the fight (peter vs toney)

The Tua fight was in 97

There are no classic fights of the 2000's in the heavyweight division.

    That was the 1990s.

    I'm talking about 2000s only.

I remember Sergeui Lyakovich against Lamon Brewster being a decent fight, dunno about a classic though. Both fighters will remain fairly obscure and unaccomplished too.

In the grand scheme of things it might rate alongside Berbick v. Snipes or something. :D

Maybe Vitali Klitschko v. Kevin Johnson will be a classic !

I guess maybe Tyson Golota, that was decent to watch, and Lewis Klitschko. As far as classic on the level of Bowe Holyfield, nothing. This thread is leading isnt it?

I think Sander's KO of Wlad, although holding no real historical significance, was an upset that may eventually be viewed as a classic. It sure as hell was one incredible performance by Corrie against a man heavily favored to destroy him.

You do realize that this fight already happened, and ended by one-sided TKO, right? :patsch
