I honestly think neither of them has done enough at 147lbs to say they have a "legacy".

Neither would make it to the top 30 at welter.

I know my stuff, the WW limit is 147 lbs fact, boxers can weigh no more than 147lbs not 145lbs.

If you have evidence to suggest what I am saying is incorrect please tell me about it?

Pac win was excellent and he is the best fighter in the world BUt the fight was not at the welter weight limit of 147lbs FACT

I agree the outcome would have been the same, so fight at the limit do not create your own.

Is the WW limit 145lbs or 147lbs?

What the official weight limit have to do with PRIVATE agreement in the contract?
Cotto could put his belt on the stack even if the agreement in the contract would state that he will weight 130lb ... ONLY the upper limit counts ... no more than 147lb then fight is at WW limit.

So now you're saying that the DLH fight at 147lbs wasn't at welterweight either....you seem confused....

Pacquiao hasn't done enough at welter, Floyd.

I think the arguement put forth is that the weight limit is 147 and normally the defender of the title has the option of coming in a the WW limit. This ususally happens unless the challenger is smaller and has enough drawing power to force the "champion" to fight at a lesser weight to make the fight happen. In this case it's a mute point because Pac would have won regardless of whether or not Cotto came in at 147 or 145lb. Course back in the day, they use to fight on the same day as the weight in so it actually meant something then. Now they can fight at weights significantly different than what they weighted in at.

I dont see how only considering 147 you can say Pac did better... .

PBF beat judah and baldo for the undisputed title. Cotto was very lucky to get Clottey's belt. DLH didnt belong at 147 and had a mediocre fight with Steve forbes just prior at 154.

That aint saying Pacs fights werent more exciting but as far as legacy, PBF obtained the linear unified title. Pac beat a good fighter in Cotto but the division is a little shaken up and Cotto wasnt undisputed champ and was lucky to have a belt at all.

No im not new to boxing, is Manny? he doesnt seem to know the WW limit.

We can go around in cirlces all day, great win and the weight didnt make a differenc BUT 147lbs is the ww limit and if he chooses to fight the winner of berto and mosley the fight should be at the 147lb limit

You can not talk about someopnes legacy at WW if they are not letting there oponent fight at the WW limit
